I thought this would be a neat topic (I cribbed it from the HTT and J.Fo)

What I've replaced in the ol' HT this year:

Front speakers: designed 2.5-way DIY speakers (replaced 10 year old DIY 3-way speakers)

Center speaker: designed 3-way DIY speaker (replaced Infinity CC-2)

Rear speakers: designed 2-way DIY speakers (replaced Infinity RS-3's)

Subwoofer: DIY Tempest-based sub (replaced a dual-Shiva-based DIY sub)

DVD Player: Panasonic RP91 (should be arriving soon, have a JVC XV-62SL for about 5 weeks, to be returned, old player replaced was a Proscan PS8260Z)

VCR: Panasonic (replaced a 5 year old Panasonic unit)

I replaced all of my speakers this year.

Best speaker replacement was I started with the HTIB 250w RCA sub and replaced it with a 500w Dahlquist Sub.

Oh and I replaced my 27-inch Zenith TV with a 32-inch Sony Wega.

Oh yeah, and I replaced my original Sony single disc DVD player with the Sony DVP-CX860 301-disc DVD player.

Basically, I replaced my entire home theater in January. I still want to replace some more stuff in the near future, but I have have to pay off all that I bought first... and buy a house with my wife.

I've only made one replacement - a receiver - from a Technics SA-DX930 to a Denon 3802 - what an improvement!

2002 replacements (hopefully):

A new subwoofer (current choices: SVS or Paradigm Servo-15 or PW2200) to replace a Paradigm PDR-10.

A new DVD player, don't know which one. My main reason for this is that my parents don't own one (but do own a Denon 1602 that I convinced them to buy) and probably will put it off. I'll buy a new one, and pass along my current one to them.

Now I just have to save the money for these. I am terrible at saving money.

Hmmm...

-video display (projector/screen)

-amplification (added Parasound amp)

-added some processing (Millenium/Angstrom)

-DVD player (RV80, then HTPC)

-CD player (Adcom GCD700)

-front speakers (Polk RTAs)

-added 2nd sub (Velo)

-some cabling and rack additions

I don't expect to buy any HW next year if no eq. failures occur.

Nothing, but I'll probably replace my old school Toshiba 2008 with an X Box sometime before the end of the year.
