I just read at Variety.com that Brett Ratner's production company will be creating a Hong Kong Phooey feature for WB.
And here I thought that this ONE cartoon would remain mercifully ignored by the Hollywood Machine. Sigh.

The heck with "Hong Kong Phooey". This is what caught my eye:

When is Sarah Michelle Gellar going to realize her potential?

A few years ago, I saw her as a Lillian Gish for the 21st century. Sigh...

Falling in love with Freddie Prinze Jr. might turn out to be her tragic flaw [IMG] I hope she does eventually move into better film roles, though, as she's extremely talented.

I refuse to accept that Hong Kong Phooey can exist without the voice of Scatman Crothers. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] Halt production now!

So we should expect to see an announcement any day for a movie based on that shark that says, "Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk"?

Well, keeping in mind that I was a wee tyke at the time, I kinda dug Hong Kong Phooey when it was on the air. But, as fun as a movie version sounds, I think it's best left as a childhood memory. Leave it alone, Rattner!
On second thought, how about an update of Electro-Woman* and Dyna-Girl*? [IMG] [IMG]
