I'd love to know also.

Same with Kill Bill's, Pulp Fiction, Open Range, Crimson Tide, etc all of which were being touted as coming this year.

Disney just plain sucks when it comes to releasing catalog titles on BD.

Yes, it reminds me of the Kill Bill Blu-ray boxes shown, what, two years at CES? Sin City is one of my most wanted catalog titles. The trailer on the Disney discs looks great.

It was just released in Canada. I bought it but haven't watched yet.

I just got this, and From Dusk til Dawn, both on Blu-ray, from Amazon.ca for about $32. Thats with the shipping to the US!

So i thought id pass the info on.

Picked this up for 13.00 bucks. Looked not too bad to me, but skin detail seemed kind of lacking at times. I don't have a 1080p set though, just an old 1080i CRT projection set so I'm not resolving all of the available detail.

"Bucks" = Can $$, I'm sure. I noticed that price at Amazon/Ca.
Not bad.

Yep, that price was in Canadian dollars. Barebones disc though. Just the movie and a DTS HD MA soundtrack. Zero extras. The box art indicated a DTS lossy track, but that info is incorrect.

Also, I spent some time watching it again last night. I've decided that the transfer actually isn't too bad. Looked quite good, at least to my non-professional eyes. For 13 dollars it will tide me over until something more full featured comes along.

It's a good looking transfer. I haven't watched the whole movie yet but spent 10 mins or so going through it last month and had no complaints. Watching on a JVC Rs2 at 106" diag.

One needs to take into account it is a pretty heavily processed looking film with CGI, colour (at times), blown out contrast (at times), and it being B&W, etc.

I jumped on that deal too, Rick! Mine came to $31.77 shipped for both. Not bad.

My friend is is "Dusk" and I have only seen that in crappy non-annie WS for years. Should be fun.

You da Man Ricker! Got the same deal.

If there's one way to ensure a U.S. release, it's for me to buy the import. :frowning: :D

I got mine in today. Quite the nice deal.
I just did a spot check of both Sin City and From Dusk til Dawn, they look great, and sound better than in the theater.

I ordered 2 disc Blu-ray cases from Sleeve City, and put disc 2 of each DVD in those cases. Presto! Instant SE.

FDTD looks surprisingly good and the sound is off the charts but SIN CITY is very good.

No-one seems to be answering the original question. What DID happen to Sin City?

How could Canada get it before the US?

I'm finding the international Blu-ray releases a little weird. We've had the Kill Bills and Crimson Tide on Blu-ray for a while now.

Kill Bill - Volume 1 (Blu-ray) @ EzyDVD
Kill Bill - Volume 2 (Blu-ray) @ EzyDVD
Crimson Tide (Blu-ray) @ EzyDVD

We're also getting INDIVIDUAL releases of the Matrix movies!

Matrix, The (Blu-ray) @ EzyDVD
Matrix Reloaded (Blu-ray) @ EzyDVD
Matrix Revolutions, The (Blu-ray) @ EzyDVD

Wassup with that?

No sign of Sin City, though. :frowning:

is this Canadian version the theatrical release only?
if so I'll wait for the extended version, where the stories are stand alone, not mixed together like the theatrical version.
