what guage wire should i use for (1 Viewer)

nht sb2 powered by a denon 2802 about a 20 ft run to the rear speakers and 8 ft to the fronts.. i currently have wires running to some old Aiwa speakers that is about 18 guage is that enought for these ?

generally 14ga wire should be fine for your runs...for a detailed chart that explains the amount of power loss per foot for different gauges of wire here is the belden website

If I might add another opinion.

It's not power-handling that is the issue. It's the roll-off of the higher frequency sounds in a long run of speaker wire.

Several speaker sites recommend the following gauge based on run-length:

1-10 ft: 16 ga
11-20 ft: 14 ga
20+ ft: 12 ga

But most of us buy a spool of 12 ga and use it for all the speakers.
