Fu Kung!, but I don't expect that to actually happen any time soon - I think the developer is working on other things right now.

None, really. I've been finding that fighting games either require too much time to be rewarding or are too shallow to be work playing long enough anyway.

The only fighting game I play now at all is Marvel vs. Capcom 2 at the mini-arcade we have at the theater I work at, and that's because we have staff tournaments.

Soul Calibur II of course! [IMG] I'm not really big into fighting games but I LOVED Sould Calibur on the DC. I bought DOA III on the XBox but could never get into it like SC.

Soul Calibur II, hands down. Nothing else this summer matters.

BTW, I'm confused by that Kung-Fu thing... do you mean to tell me that people are still developing retro-style games for 'classic' consoles??? (in Johnny Carson voice: ) I did not know that.

Yep. Some of the graphics the guy developing Fu Kung has been able to coax out of the 2600 are pretty incredible for a machine with 128 bytes of RAM, a maximum horizontal resolution of 40 pixels, and three single-color eight-pixel-wide "players" per scan line.

I think he did the "Duke Nukem Forever" 2600 cartridge that showed up for April 1st this year.

Speaking of which, are they EVER gonna come out with a Duke Nukem for next gen systems, or WHAT?

My thumbs are going with SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos (I wonder how much the AES cart is going to cost...) and Soul Calibur II (GameCube version for me).

As for a Next Gen Duke, considering how badly the last few titles have fared, I'm not sure if that's something I really want to see.

Played the Xbox version of Soul Caliber II at Lollapalooza yesterday. It is an absolute thing of beauty and is now my mopst eagerly awaited game of the summer. I hope I'm finished with KOTOR when this does come out, as I won't be playing much of anything else for a while.

Nothing for me really, the 3D fighting genre has stagnated and I don't see any currently announced games that can save it. Other than the visuals, SC2 is really not much better than the first and it's now several years later and on better hardware. It's just my personal opinion, but I think the ultimate high water mark in 3D fighting was hit by Virta Fighter 2 on the Saturn/arcade.

I had pretty much declared fighting games dead for me until I picked up Guilty Gear X for 15.95 at a pawn shop. After playing it for an evening, I promptly set aside $40 for the soon to be released GGXX, which is absolutely amazing. No need to look forward to a fighting game, the best one is already out.
