    Hello...

    Just trying to get some ideas on what you floks are using for a 2nd system.

    Here's mine:

    Sony KV-32XBR

    Sony 13" Trinitron

    Sony STR-DA555ES (use remote for system)

    Pioneer DV-525 DVD

    Pioneer CLD-900 CD/LD (First combo player, still mint).

    Sony Hi-Fi VCR

    Toshiba 6-Head VCR

    Sony 4-Way SS-TL5 Spks (Solid Tiger Oak)

    Yamaha NC-AC300 (Centre/Rears)

    Audiosource SW-15 (Insulated)

    Comments: This system is in my bedroom. It sounds very good for the size of the room. I was one of them that was against receiver's (I have a Lexicon in my main system) being anywhere near as good as a pre-pro. But my STR-555ES does it's job very well. Great LFE!!

    I have my main stereo system and home-theater system in one room, and a second stereo system in another room. My second stereo system:

    * NAD C 350 stereo integrated amp

    * Energy e:XL 25 floorstanding speakers (rosewood finish)

    * Sony SCD-C333ES SACD/CD changer

    * Sony SCD-CE775 SACD/CD changer

    * Pioneer Elite PD-65 single-disc CD player

    * Sony CDP-XA5ES single-disc CD player (European model; champagne chassis)

    * Sony CDP-X3000ES single-disc CD player (Japanese model; champagne chassis)

    * Harman/Kardon CDR 30 dual-tray CD recorder

    * Sony MDS-JB930 minidisc player/recorder

    * Sony MXD-D3 CD player/minidisc player/recorder

    * Pioneer CT-WM77R 6 + 1 cassette tape changer

    I am currently using cheap Monster XP speaker wire with Radio Shack banana plugs, but I will be upgrading to BetterCables Premium speaker cables with Vampire banana plug terminations soon. As for interconnects, I am using Monster Interlink 400mkIIs all-around, but I will likely upgrade interconnects for some key components (e.g., the 'C333ES, 'CE775, and PD-65) eventually.

    Click on the little house for a description (no pics) of my "second" home theater system. In my office I have a stereo only system with the following:
    Denon DP7F turntable with brand new Audio Technica AT311EP cartridge [IMG]
    Harman/Kardon HK3270 stereo receiver
    Pioneer CLD-M401 LD player/5 CD Changer
    Sony MDS-JB920 MiniDisc Deck (also serves as a DAC for CD/LD player)
    Sony RX606ES Casette Deck
    Mirage 290iS bookshelf speakers
    Passac Unity Eight rack mount 8 channel mixer (for MIDI instruments and PC audio)
    (it sounds really fantastic. I love the Mirage speakers and H/K receiver.)
    The fourth system (yes I know I'm crazy) consists of:
    Philips FR-930 receiver (Prologic serving as Stereo)
    Sony MDS-JE320
    Pioneer PDF-606 25 disc CD changer
    Cheapo Aiwa Mini-System speakers
    The only other system that I use for anything approaching "serious" listening is the office system. As a matter of fact I'm spinning my ABC records LP copy of Steely Dan's "Aja" as I type this.
    Back in the day I would have moved this to "polls" but I'm not sure what's happened to that area. [IMG]

    Sorry GregE, I'm keeping my CD-1. Kinda stinks they are going out of production, eh? I've had so many side-projects, I haven't even got to tube-rolling it!
