I'm currently on my way looking for a new pair of speakers for just my 5 surround speakers and I stumbled upon this website ---click here. I was looking at the MAX-HS-6.5-6.5-3-2 (2nd one down). Do you think these are quality speakers? or do you think they are are too cheap to be good?

    any opinions would be apreciated!

    Thanks.

I’ve not heard these speakers, so I can’t comment.

What is your current system? I assume that you are looking to replace your two front speakers with these, and it is possible that some of us might have some suggestions if you were a bit more specific on what you have and what you are trying to accomplish and why.

In all honesty, they look like they are worth what they are charging for them, and that is not saying much.

Well...I'm looking for some inexpensive speakers to replace all of my speakers except the sub. I was looking at klh. I read some of the posts about them and was a little bit nervous to buy some of them (some people strongly believe they are crap). I have a kenwood receiver and some cheap kenwood speakers. I just want something better than what I have (I think they were part of HTIB).

    Thanks for your responses.

I wouldnt take a chance on a place like that. Even the website looks cheap. They also dont offer refunds, only exchanges. So if the speakers suck you're stuck with them. Whats your budget for speakers? I'm sure someone can suggest a better deal within your budget.

FWIW, I just bought a pair of outdoor speakers for $60 from Home Theater Direct. They're outdoor speakers, so they're plastic, but I was very impressed with the build quality. They don't sound as good as the $300-$400/pr. outdoor speakers that I auditioned at some of the local shops, but they have no business only costing $60. I'm very impressed with them for the money.

I haven't heard the rest of their line, but I've read some decent things about them. They're cheap and have a money back guarantee.

You might also check out Fluance speakers. They sell very affordable speakers that, according to from other forum members many positive comments, these speakers sound better than their low price would suggest.

    Thanks guys,
I just checked out fluance. [IMG] WOW! Those are nice speakers for amazing prices! Why aren't they more popular?
Even tho they are cheap they are still out of my budget for the moment(I need a car). So I got a pair of KLH TW-09B from BB. IMO, they sound great (better than my old ones but thats not hard to do) and the price sounds even better. I will definitely be looking at the Fluance tho.

    Thanks everyone.

I wonder how these would compare against the infamous Dogg Digital "White Van" speakers...

Oh yeah - but I would definitely suggest you looking into Fluance speakers for your next purchase if your HiFi budget is being stretched. If you come upon some extra money to spend, you might then want to move up and check out some of the Axiom speakers.

I have the Fluance ES-1's and they sound great. That and they are sexy for the ladies. [IMG]

Also, on super budget speakers, KLH has the 970As which go for $20 a pair. They're 3way and sound way better than the cost.
