    Hi all,

I would like to know what you guys think about Stucco (I think this is what it's called) wall treatment in an acoustiscal point of view.

When i moved in my house, one the basement room just screamed "I am your home theater room". It is now done, all my HT equipement is installed.

I read some articles on acoustics basics where, from what i understood, a room should have a fair amount of diffusion and not all absorbtion. One of the article named some good material for diffusion but never mentioned stucco walls... What do you guys thinks about Stucco as a diffucion surface ?

    thank for your help

Effective, broadband diffusion requires relatively deep contours in the wall's surface. This would ideally be on the order of at least 4 inches. I've not seen stucco that approaches this much depth of texture. Randomly loaded bookshelves work great, or something similiar.

    Best regards and beautiful pictures,
