I am building a box and I was wondering what the rule was for the distance between the speaker, port, and walls.

I am using a 4" port so I remember hearing that there should be 4 inches from the front and back of the port, is that right?

Also how much clearance should there be around the port and speaker.

Probably more than 4 inches I would think. I built a pair of GR Research AV/3 towers and was told to get them 3 feet or so from the wall.....which I can't quite do, but I'm close.

I think he's asking about the spacing of the port inside the box, not how far the box should be placed from the walls of the room
