    Hi,

I am still looking at steps to improve my setup for better music + DPL II, but with some budget limitations.

    After reviews I have considered.

    (n/a) Rotel 1066 + some Power Amp (e.g. 1075)
    (4/6) Marantz SR 9200
    (n/a) Denon 4803/A11SR 5803/A1SR
    (5/6) Pioneer 49Tx/49TXi AX10/AX10i
    (5/6) Onkyo TX-DS989 (upg2)
    (n/a) HK AVR-8000 AVR-8500

In parethesis is the score given by my French magazine for classical music (Diapason).

1 feature that I like but is often missing (even in this selection: Audio Video Resynchronization.

I have a 5.1 setup, and mixed front/effect speakers. I am considering getting better front speakers, but might not be the same brand as the effect speakers (Castle) due to high-price in Singapore.

What I am really more interested in, as the subject reads, is to what have previous owners of DSP-A1 upgraded.

Still have my DSP-A1. Yamaha thought ahead and added 5.1 inputs for DVD-A or SACD -- a relatively rare find on pieces from that year.

I won't upgrade it until I can afford a decent pre/pro setup in my price range. Certainly wouldn't "upgrade" it to a receiver.
