What components are strongly needed for Home Theater? (+)

    1.Large TVset or TV projector
    2.AV-receiver
    3.Surround speakers
    4.DVD or other source of video and sound

    and what more that will be 'HomeTheater'

    neither nor TV+DVD+Speakers?

    I think if you just lurk here for awhile you will find what you need.
    You'll need 5 or 6 six good speakers and a subwoofer. So start reading the multitude of threads to start getting an idea of what you will require.

    For me, sound is what matters, not screen size. So for me, starting with a good receiver and speakers is a must, paying closer attention to the front stage - L,R and center. For the full effect, you have to have at least 2 surround speakers, not necessarily the same quality as the front, but they should be able to keep up. The sub is very important also. A good sub can make a big difference.

    For source with the best picture and sound, DVD is a given.

    I prefer clarity over image size, so I stick with tube TVs vs rear projection. Front projection is great, but better quality gear is not inexpensive.
