Funny thing happened to me the other day. I was moving into my new apartment and I ran across my boxes of comics from when I was a kid. I actually pulled a few out (some as old as 35-40 years) and gave them a look. It's starting to get me interested in comics again. I might just check out some of the ones on your list Brion. Any other recommendations from other members? Growing up I prefered Marvel fare like The Avengers, FF, Thor, and Hulk. Not sure what's going on with those comics these days though.

    Y The Last Man
    Powers
    She-Hulk
    Outsiders
    Queen & Country
Superman/Batman (pretty much all the Super- and Bat-books, really, although I can't wait for the Jim Lee/Brian Azzerello run on Superman to end)
    Captain America & Falcon
    Liberty Meadows
    Fables
    Ranma 1/2
    Ultimate Spider-Man
    Daredevil (as collections)
    Tom Strong
    Promethea
    Outsiders
The Adventures of Barry Ween, Boy Genius
    Girl Genius
    Courtney Crumrin
    Uncle Scrooge
    Runners
Pretty much and graphic novel Oni puts out
    Fantastic Four
    Wonder Woman
    Hopeless Savages
    Scooter Girl
    Tales From The Bully Pulpit

... and those are the ones I'm enthusiastic about. It's a more dangerous addiction than DVDs.

    Hey Todd H,

Check out Avengers #500. It is the beginning of the Disassembled storyline written by Brian Michael Bendis. The storyline which ends with #503 will see the end of the Avengers as we know them. Some will die, some will leave. After #503 there will be a new Avengers series (starting at #1 instead of #504) with a new team. This series will also be written by Brian Michael Bendis.

    Brion,

You and I have similar tastes except I’m not into Manga at all. I started reading comics when Miller was doing Daredevil and love all that stuff. I also really like Loeb/Sale and am looking forward to their Catwoman. What with this HT hobby and my other hobbies, I can’t afford too many comics, but I do currently read:
    Daredevil
    Avengers
    Powers
    Conan
    Astonishing X-men
    and Amazing Spiderman.

Other than Daredevil and Conan, this list is open to a lot of fluctuation. I also always keep an eye out for interesting indy type stuff and Forsaken is a new one that I’m enjoying so far.

I used to collect A LOT more than I do now, but I've always remained faithful to DC. I've never been a big fan of the stuff that Marvel puts out (not that they don't have good books)...

In the past few years though, I've really cut down on my books. I used to collect about a dozen titles per month, but with the rising cost of books, and what I found to be the plummeting quality of story, I cut back to three:

    Flash
    Justice League
    Green Lantern

    I used to also collect:
    All the Superman Titles
    Impulse
    Transformers
All related Justice League Titles (JLA, JLE, JLTF)
    The Savage Dragon
    Wildcats
    etc.

I highly recommend JL, GL and Flash though...

    Moe.

I've just recently gotten back into comics after being huge into the X-men in the 80s and 90s. I've been reading the Ultimate lines, Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men.

I highly recommend Planetary, Rising Stars, Red Star, and the trades of Preacher, Sandman and the initial run of the Authority.

I also recently got back into comics, and went a little nuts buying up runs of titles I had missed in the last 3-4 years, and also ended up with a long box of hardcovers too:

    Planetary
    Promethea (ending soon)
    Tom Strong
    She-Hulk
Superman (the current run is torturous)
    Liberty Meadows
    Strangers in Paradise
    Teen Titans
    Runaways (ended)
    Ex Machina
    Y The Last Man
Mystique (only the Vaughn run 1-13)
    Hero (ending soon)
    Fables
    Birds of Prey
    Marvel Knights 4
    Ultimate Fantastic Four
    Astonishing X-Men
Iron Man (when Adi Granov draws Ellis' scripts)
    Supreme Power
    Wanted

These are the ones I've been reading regularly for the past few months:

    Amazing Spider-Man
    Astonishing X-Men
    Avengers
    Daredevil
    Marvel Knights Spider-Man
    The Pulse
    Superman
    Teen Titans

Except for the overhyped and dissapointing Superman run, I've been enjoying all the above comics tremendously.

Jason Seaver, I like a lot of stuff you do. Also glad to know that there is at least one other person on the planet who reads "Uncle Scrooge". I have been reading:

NYX (excellent Fresh new look at the x virus, if only they could get their stuff out on time)
    Victory (super funny new series)
Hulk: Nightmerica (series done now, but B. Ashmore is doing a signing at local store in like 3 weeks, so re-reading)
    Shi
    Kabuki
    Naruto
    One Piece
    Berserk
    Anything Shirow

As a sub-question add-on to the original question, what Artits/writers do you currently follow/enjoy.

    I quite enjoy:

    Adam Warren
    David Mack
    Masamune Shirow
    Yoshitaka Amano
    Adam Hughes

    Amazing Spidey
    Ultimate Spidey
    Avengers Disassembled
    Astonishing X-Men
    X-Men: The End
    Anything Mignola related

Been reading some older stuff in TBP form...

    Amazing Spidey - Lee/Ditko
    BPRD - Soul of Venice
    Daredevil - Frank Miller run

Ultimate Spider-man(I mainly pick up the tpb)
    Robin
    Superman
    Batman tpb.

I stopped collecting comics for about 10 years and only went back to it after reading the Batman Hush series(that I bought monthly).

Hey, if Chloe Sevigny thinks Scrooge McDuck is sexy... [IMG]

I gather the Duck stuff is actually huge in Europe. I've cut my Disney books back so that Uncle Scrooge is the only one I get, but the $6.95 is totally worth it if you get a Don Rosa story in there.

Nothin, till I can "order" electronic versions. Too much money for too little time/quality. They take up too much space, and are often subpar.

I was a huge collector of X-Men/Batman related stuff, with the occasional other line catching my eye.

I actually started up again when I heard Joss Whedon was writing "Astonishing X-men," and that was the beginning of the end, so to speak. I also read:

    Rogue
    X-Men: The End
    Teen Titans
    Identity Crisis

And I finally completed my collection of "Codename: Knockout," so I can read the entire series in order.

    Rafael.
