First,of all let me start out by saying Hi. My name is Wade and I have no clue about audio anything

Now that is out the way. I am setting up my first home theater. And I am not sure what I should buy first, the blu-ray player or the sound system. Should I find a nice sounds system then see about picking up a good blu-ray player that will go with it or pick up a blu-ray player and hunt for a good sound system for it?

I watch a ton of movies and play alot of games and I want to enhance my experience and enjoyment. I have a descent TV already that I like. But now I want to go bigger and better (for cheap of course lol). But I have no idea where to start. None-the-less any help would glady be appriacted. But do expect later on down the line when I start looking at stuff for 100 milllion more questions to pop up :D (lol).

Sorry about the long post.

Without knowing what you already have, I'd shop for the sound system first. Reason being, BluRay hasn't been out all that long and there are still growing pains. By picking up the BR player last you're giving them some more time to straighten these things out. Plus, prices are coming down almost as fast as gas prices. By the time you're ready you will be able to save alot of money or get a much better player for about the same price. Just my opinion of course.

I agree with Gene. Buy the sound system now, which you can fully enjoy with a DVD player (I assume you have a dvd player already). The BluRay player can be purchased further down the road.
