Robert Altman is a great filmmaker, and he deserved to win the Best Director award for this year. I feel bad that he lost. Anyway, I was just wondering what you think is the best of his films. As the title of this thread implies, select your Top 5 favorite films from this great filmmaker. Here is my list:

    1.M*A*S*H (1970)
    2.Brewster McCloud (1970)
    3.Popeye (1980)
    4.The Player (1992)
    5.Gosford Park (2001)

Although it looks as if this list was conconcted by chronological order, it's not. These are my favorite films in exact order of how much I like them.

So what are your Top 5 favorite Robert Altman films?

I don't agree with a lot of what he's said to the press, but credit where credit's due, the man is a brilliant filmmaker. My faves...

    "O.C And Stiggs"
    "Popeye"
    "The Player"

    I only have 3 I've seen...is that okay?

    Sincerely,

    John Kilduff...

Well, what can I tell you?

I recently purchased "Nashville" BTW, but haven't watched it yet.

I can't say that I am a big fan. The Player is my favorite of the films I have seen.
