Just curious what discs folks have and enjoy...
I only have two--Isaac Hayes Shaft soundtrack and Slotkin's An American in Paris (and other Gershwin) both on SACD. I like them both (though I would have liked Shaft even better in MCH).
I've been looking for Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes and its tough to find.
Every Picture Tells A Story
Any of the Patricia Barber titles (these are pretty special)
Blood, Sweat & Tears
Keane: Hopes and Fears (light years better than its CD counterpart)
Beck: Sea Change
"I, Robot" by Alan Parsons Project.
I'll say. I saw one listed on Amazon (.ca, I believe) from "other seller" for 361.95$
You're not kidding. I had know idea these were going for so much. I am happy to have all of them.
I have the Cowboy Junkies Whites Off Earth Now on SACD. Great album, albeit a kind of obscure selection for such a good treatment.
I think Ryan Adams' "Heartbreaker" on MoFi SACD not only sounds amazing, but is also an excellent disc music-wise.
Spirit Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus Aluminum CD
Huey Lewis and the News Sports
Blind Faith Blind Faith
Rod Stewart Every Picture Tells a Story
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Damn the Torpedoes
Robert Cray Strong Persuader
Steve Winwood Back in the High Life
Albert Collins, Robert Cray & Johnny Copeland Showdown
Stevie Ray Vaughan The Sky is Crying
Also DCC cd's and some audio fidelity.
If I tell you where you can pick these up @ less than $30.00/each brand-new, would you be interested?
Otherwise, I have one of the Los Lobos SACDs....still sealed. Have no idea how it sounds though.
I might be.
Go to the website of Hong Kong's HIFI-CD.com Online Music Store and do a search using "Barber". I think the currency will automatically change to display US dollars. You should see the Patricia Barber MFSL SACDs listed for about US$28.00/each. The shipping should be about US$3.00/each disc.
Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with this e-tailer other than being a satisfied customer.
Yep, that is a good one. I wish they would do some Whiskeytown releases in hirez.
I got a copy of Joe Jackson's Night and Day album on MFSL CD. Spectacular! Great sonics and a favorite album of mine.
"I, Robot" by Alan Parsons Project on regular MFSL CD. I have only one MFSL SACD and that's "That's The Way of the World" by EWF.
I have that one. In fact I have almost all of the Mofi SACDs. The new Art Pepper is really good as is Hot Buttered Soul.
I had bought that EWF album in hopes it would have the quad mix on the 5.1 multichannel layer. I already had "Hot Buttered Soul" on a Fantasy CD but I would like to hear the SACD to make the comparision. Another MoFi favorite is "3rd Stage" by Boston.
Queen - A Night at the Opera
I've been trying to get Supertramp's Breakfast in America but it seems to only pop up on eBay at outrageous prices. Does anyone have that one and if so, can you say if it is sonically much better than the regular version?
