Just interested to see what everyones favorite games "of all time" are - doesn't matter the system/etc.

Here are mine to start

Quest/Adventure/RPG type:
Sam and Max Hit the Road (PC, talkie version) - a good adventure and the funniest game ever.
Phantasy Star (SMS) - I just have plenty of fond memories with this one being my first really long RPG - can't wait for the GBA version!
Sierra's Space Quest series

Shooters: (man the shooter genre has certainly dissappeared...)
R-Type (SMS/arcade)
Blood Money (Amiga)

Platform:
Anything Mario
Rayman 2 (DC)
Bionic Commando
Shinobi

Sports:
Tony Hawk Pro Skater (any version)
NBA Jam (ps)
Excitebike (nes)

Fighting:
Battle Arena Toshinden (PS)
Soul Blade/Calibur
DOA series

I know I'm forgetting and leaving out tons but those were just off the top of my head what about yours?

The only game I will never get tired of playing (AT ALL) is probably Shadowgate for the NES. I can still beat it in under 45 minutes.

Great ones Romier (as usual).
My first two consoles:
Atari 2600
Adventure (get the invisible dot!)
Combat (shoot up the cacti)
Defender (better than the arcade IMO)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (tse tse flies and time puzzles)
NES
Castlevania (brilliant atmosphere & gameplay)
Kid Icarus (when the lava turns yellow, don't jump in!)
The Legend of Zelda (the blue boomerang rocks!)
Metroid (Perfection.)
Super Mario Bros. (Played this more than any other videgame in my entire life.)
Rockman (Megaman) (Outmatches and outclasses every other Megaman in the series)
Rygar (bwah bwah bwah!! Kill the Robots in Lapis for quick victory!)
Honourable mentions go to:
Track and Field, for teaching me how painful blistered fingers can be.
Duck Hunt, for teaching me how to shoot a light gun.

I will try to stay on-topic with Part 2 of my favorite games, then veer way off topic with some misty eyed memories.
Super Famicom
Castlevania 4 (Japanese version, blood & nude statues)
Street Fighter 2 (the first time I was impressed by an arcade port)
Super Mario RPG (go through the secret door to fight the multi-headed beast from a famous RPG)
Super Metroid (More Samus goodness)
Zombies Ate My Neighbors ("Ants!!")
Battletoads (smooth, convincing, flicker-free fight mechanics)
Dynamite Headdy (from the makers of the lackluster Stretch Panic? For shame!)
Super Bomberman (One morning, after an entire night indoors playing 4-player Super Bomberman, my friend walked outside and his eyeballs literally jumped half an inch forward in his sockets and moved back... he is freaked out to this day.)
Yoshi's Island (utterly amazing)
Speaking of the lightgun, remember Gumshoe for the NES? I still have that game but I don't have the peripheral. :frowning: As for R.O.B. -- forget Mario, this Robot was the first real mascot for the NES launch.
As for Castlevania 64, what a disappointment. I tried so hard to like this game, I really did.
Thank goodness for Symphony of the Night (now OOP) and Circle of the Moon (a game among hundreds I have yet to finish).

My short-but-sweet favorite list:

-Ms. Pac Man (arcade)
-Galaga (arcade)
-Star Wars (arcade, 1984)
-Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES, 1988)
-The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES, 1992)
-GoldenEye 007 (N64, 1997)
-NCAA Football 2002 (PS2, 2001)
-Halo (XBox, 2001)

There are a bunch of other games I really like (Perfect Dark, and both Star Wars Rogue Leader games, among others), but the ones above are really timeless to me, and are games that I can go back to pretty much any time I want and have as much fun with as I did the first time I ever played them.

Hummmm... Tough call.
Atari 2600
Pitfall I and II (I still pop these cartridges in from time-to-time)
Joust
Breakout (hopelessly addicting)
PC
Zork
Pool of Radiance/Curse of the Azure Bonds/Secret of the Silver Blades (Gold Box series)
Civilization
SimCity
Doom
Xbox
Halo
As you can see, I took a break from PC/console gaming for a while, but I am back and am loving my new Xbox! Also, one of these days I am going to toss my old PC - currently a P90, 64 meg RAM, 4 meg video card!!! (rocking for it's day) running Windows NT service pack 6 (barely) - and have fun with all the really cool games I have missed out on, so this thread is GREAT! Keep coming with all the good suggestions. :D

I was always partial to Venture for the Colecovision. Plus all the classic Atari games made by Activision...Pitfall, Freeway, Kaboom, etc.
I loved the first Resident Evil for PS1 as well. I did a majority of my gaming as a child on the 2600, Intellivision and Colecovision. I skipped a couple generations before getting back on board recently with an XBox.:emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:

Halo - XBox Made me a believer in the XBox and that you just might be able to play a FPS on a console
Tony Hawk Pro Skater Series - DC/XBox I remember thinking how stupid this game wa going to be, damn I'm glad I was wrong

NES:
- Shatterhand
- Dragon Warrior
- Bubble Bobble
- Every MegaMan game except 4, which I will always hate :p)

- TMNT IV: Turtles In Time
- Link To The Past
- Super Metroid
- Mario Kart
- Super Mario RPG
