When I see SVS in the title I jump to it. What about you?

This looks like a Polls Area topic. Anyway, if I see anything dealing with SACD or front-end hardware, I usually jump at it.

i'm not too picky. i just see if the question interests me.
if it's a topic i know about, i'll try to post my answer (unless someone else already has). if it's something i don't know about it i'll read it to try to learn something.
if it's a "which cable is better" or "dts vs. dd" question i'll try to scan over it to see if there's anything i haven't heard a hundred times already. otherwise i avoid those like the plague. [IMG]
if i see a thread with a really big number of replies and i'll usually scan to see what all the hubbub is about.

I look for questions about specific equipment I have, THX EX/DTS-ES (I have a "homebrew" set up), Outlaw 950 (might be my next pre/pro if it gets half decent reviews), equalizing subwoofer output (the next thing on my list to "play" with), multi-channel amps (I have 2 3-channel units), DAT, MD, etc.
What I do *not* look at is threads with subject headings that are nondescript:
"Is this stupid or what?" (your subject heading is "stupid")
"Look at my HT pictures!" (a little vain, aren't we?)
"How do I break a receiver" (drop it from 20 ft or higher)
    Etc. [IMG]

Being only a couple of years into this hobby, I of course jump to threads with my own equipment as that is where I can make definative contributions and also learn about optimizing my own setup.
As my taste and knowledge base has increased, I have found myself gravitating more into bass mgt issues. I find that minor tweaks to my sub placment and settings can make profound changes to the overall sound quality for both music and HT, so that is what I look for first.

Also, projector threads and HTPC threads.

I gravitate toward threads about components from the same manufacturers I have because I tend to be loyal to those, so I like to keep up on what they got, and contribute when I can. I also tend to plan out purchases well in advance, so when I'm buying a new component I keep an eye on those. Lately I've been watching for news on Martin Logan's, SVS, and anything DVD-Audio related. And I too keep an eye out for bass management info since its such an interesting and hard to master topic.

When money's tight I read posts about the equipment I have so I can learn how others use/tweak them. Or topics which are general in nature and provide good suggestions (speaker placement, using SPL meter, mattes around tv's).
When I got money to burn, I read about all the equipment I'd like to (and sometimes do) upgrade to!

Anything about SVS or receivers (mostly the Denon 3802). I am looking to replace both when I get some money saved up.

I'm all over the place! I'm not too picky either, but the two topics I LOVE discussing are OAR, and women. If I see a thread that reads something like 'Most attractive actress' or ANYTHING that even remotly involves females, i'm their!

Also, anything relating to specific movies that I particularly liked (or particularly disliked), HTF-related threads, upcoming DVD news/reviews, threads started by members I respect, and anything that might have something vulgar or controversial in it. [IMG]

I usually look in the Software section first. I like to get the latest info on new releases and get everyone's opinions on a new disc as far as video transfer, sound, extras etc.
