What are the chances of another X-Files movie? (1 Viewer)

I was watching The X-Files: Fight the Future the other day and remembered how much I liked it the first time I saw it. I'd love to see another movie based on the series. I watched the series for about the first 4 seasons, but missed most of the episodes after that so I don't really know what they could base it on. But still, I'm sure Chris Carter could turn out another great story given the chance. Anyone else like to see another movie? What are the chances of it?

I don't recall the details but I am pretty certain that there are plans for more X-Files on the big screen.

I heard that they were thinking of either making the X-Files into a movie series, or at least one movie to wrap everything up.

I had heard at one point that if they were to do more, they would completely ignore the whole "alien conspiracy" story angles and simply do a "monster of the week" story as a movie.

Chris Carter is writting another X-Files film right now.

Gillian Anderson confirmed on TV in the UK that Carter is writing the story and that both she and Duchonvy are going to do it.

how about a movie that takes place before the clusterfuck that was killing off the Conspiracy? How about the aliens hit the tarmac and the crap starts hitting the fan?

Well this is great news. I'm very glad that both Anderson and Duchovny or going to do it also. I did manage to catch an episode with Robert Patrick and it just wasn't the same. I wonder what the story could be, it would seem strange to steer away from the alien conspiracy angle since a lot of the show was based on that. But either way I have full faith in Chris Carter in whatever he decides to do with it.

If you had stuck around for what the alien conspiracy stuff evolved into you wouldn't mind so much. And that story was "Pretty much" wrapped up in the series finale--at least a timeframe for invasion was given that would conceivably give Carter many years to forget that story to make several movies without it.

I always liked the monster of the week episodes better so I really hope he sticks to this plan.

I liked the alian conspiracy episodes and some of the monster of the week episodes. Maybe Carter can combine the 2 and have the monsters beating up on the aliens.
