The house I am buying is an 1890 Victorian. The family room is currently in the turet part of the house which is round.
Is this a bad thing or a good thing?
My local HT store says it is good because walls are usually a challenge when dealing with speaker placement and noise amplification...or something like that.
Any opinion out there on this?
I guess I also cant put my sub in the corner of the room.

I would think that you would have a really hard time with reflects of the various sounds wave hitting you at different times depending on where you set to watch the TV.

That's really something that starts one thinking about ramifications.
I should think some testing would be in order. I like to make tests on everything before committing. If possible, I'd set up at least stereo speakers in the room and do some listening to see what happens.
I suppose if there's no furniture or carpets in the room, it might be a little tough to get a good feel for the sound. To help in this area, professional sound people use pads like thos U-Haul furniture pads to reduce sound reflection on a temporary basis.
