Hey people, some of you may know about my lowly Pentium 166 computer with a Monster3D card that i use day in and day out. Not much of a gaming rig i know.
Finally, my parents are going to get me a new one! :)
Its gonna be (hopefully) an AMD Thunderbird 1.33GHz, 256MB of DDR Ram, and a Geforce2 GTS video card.
Because of my slow computer i've missed out on alot of games over the years, and games today.
So canya guys get me up to speed??? I'm not a huge fan of Strategy games liek Starcraft. For PC im mainly into single-player FirstpersonShooters, blowing up terrorists and nazis, and other action games.
Some games I'm looking foreward to playing are:
- HalfLife (it runs on my P166, but it gets choppy)
- Theif 1/2
- System Shock 1/2
- DeusEx
- Soldier of Fortune 1/2 (I have the first on Dreamcast, but id wanna play it again on computer)
- Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
- Return to Castle Wolfenstein
- Kingpin: life of crime
- Hitman: Codename 47
- Hidden and Dangerous
- Max Payne
- Rainbow Six series
- GTA3
- Red Faction
- Spiderman: The Movie
What are some other games (Old and new) that are worth experiencing? :)

Be sure to check out Red Alert 2, it is the best RTS I've ever played. Other good ones include:

Aliens vs. Predator 2
Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast
Diablo II
Quake III Arena
Unreal Tournament
Operation Flashpoint
Tribes 2
Sim City 3000

I am pretty hooked right now on Aliens Vs. Predators 2. If you go to www.gamesdomain.com you can download a Demo version...but I recommend downloading the Aliens Vs. Predators 2 Multiplayer Demo for some out and out carnality.

Serious Sam or the more recent Serious Sam The Second Encounter are great fun. Very inexpensive too!

Also, the add-on packs for Half Life, Opposing Force and Blue Shift, were also very good, although pretty short in length. Of course, they are probably both marked down now so you might want to check them out.

Have fun with your new system.

I'd strongly recommend going for the semi-sequel of Homeworld (sorry, the name escapes me). Homeworld is a stunning game, but as with many things so innovative, there are flaws aplenty. The biggest ones were all cleared up in that, including the fact that the best strategy in the original was to leave your PC on and unattended for an hour or two after completing each level before actually choosing to finish it, otherwise you'd not automatically collect all the available resources before leaving the area. In a game where you carry your fleet from one level to the next, this is vital.
