A few word replacements I've used off and on through the decades:

Zaya = Pizza
Muck = Milk
Burr = Beer

The funny thing is, I've never even tried to spell out the pizza slang word until just now. :lol:

CHEERS! :)

What annoys me? How bureaucracies put up barriers against the very people they are supposed to help. How do you talk to a real live person who can help you? They want you to do everything online. Okay, here's my rant:

I have a problem so I sent them an e-mail on their site and they responded they would get back to me in 6 to 7 days. 6 to 7 days go by and no response. I send a second e-mail and get the same response about 6 to 7 days. 6 to 7 days go by and no response. Today I decided, okay, I'll just have to call customer service. I literally dialed them 50 times (going through their "push 1 for this and push 2 for this etc." nonsense) only to get "due to the volume of calls we are not able to assist you at this time, try again later". On the 51st attempt, I finally get through and am put on hold for 40 minutes with the occasional "your call is important to us, please stay on the line". Finally, a real live person answers the phone and I explain my problem. He says he'll see what the problem is and puts me on hold. He comes back after 10 minutes and says he will transfer me to a specialist who will assist me. The I'm on hold for 90 minutes listening to godawful canned music waiting for the specialist and again getting the occasional "your call is important etc." message. Finally, the line goes dead at 5PM PST. Their hours are 8 to 5 so I guess they just disconnected the phones. My next attempt is to physically go to their office tomorrow (which is discouraged). We'll see if they throw me out or actually attempt to help me but I get the feeling I'm f'kd.

Similar experience: I call the local cable company. I go through the press 1, press 2 thing etc. (This is Canada, so they also ask me if I want English or French — I pick English, but they still say everything in English followed by everything in French!). One of the choices is customer “service”. I pick that one. A voice tells me that due to the pandemic they are only giving service at a website, and proceeds to rattle of the address at 100k/hour. I get a pen and paper and go through the procedure 3 times before I get it.

I go on the website and make a 5 paragraph whine about my problem and send it off.

Four days later I get a reply which states my problem must be handled by a live person, and which gives me the same phone number.

This time I lie and push the number which is for a large pay TV purchase. A person answers right a way. Luckily for me the gentleman from South Africa knows what he is doing and is actually able to help me. With out a word of a lie, I can hear roosters crowing in the background and he tells me it’s 4:00 a.m.

California. Government whether on the local, state or federal level is impossible to get in touch with these days :angry:
If you stop and think for a minute, this situation can really infuriate you- we pay them, and they give us this in return. Must be nice to collect, and not seemingly be under any obligation to actually do anything.

Spent last weekend tearing down part of our backyard fence and moving it out 4 feet so I could spend this weekend putting up a stupid pool. In case anyone is wondering, yes, I hate swimming pools.
