It would bother me anywhere the seating is set up in that fashion (movie theater, cafeteria, you name it)!

I feel your pain. Even though I'm typically sitting by myself and reading a book I tend to attract those who want to talk - about things I care nothing about. I have a knack for being able to tune out unwanted talk when reading (I'll hear my name called but nothing else) yet these people keep poking the bear. I can even say "That's interesting but I'd like to read my book" yet am ignored. Once a pair of girls tried to pick me up while I was in a laundromat doing my washing (ours had died so...). I finally looked up and said "I'm flattered, but no thanks. I'm married and just want to read while my clothes wash." That got a "How rude!" reply - but at least they left as I'm thinking "*I'm* rude?!?"

How could your politeness about not caring to talk be construed as rudeness?

Every restaurant we go to seems to have an old guy with a large handkerchief blowing his nose loudly, sounding like a huge wet goose.

When did this become acceptable? Once upon a time a person would discreetly withdraw to the restroom and snot their head off there.

I can put up with this and usually don’t even notice, but it really puts my wife off her food.

I can understand this in movie theaters if you're sitting in prime seats. Others will naturally want similar seats and will likely sit near you. But other instances are annoying, yes.

Similar to when I'm in a store and almost always, without fail, I'll be in the aisle looking at the one thing I came to the store to get and someone will immediately walk right up next to me and have to be looking at the exact same thing at the exact same moment.

Or in a nearly empty restaurant when the hostess sits groups right next to each other. I realize sometimes they close sections during slow periods, but one would think there could at least be a one table buffer between groups.

The restaurant thing doesn’t bother me so much except for when I’m seated in the screaming baby section.

Whenever this annoying tracking scenario plays out!

Not only is it now past the "expected" delivery date, but the above doesn't even tell me where my shipment is at, currently.

That's why I get the tracking # from Amazon and enter it on the appropriate site for real tracking information - what Amazon *used* to do...

What's even more annoying is the only reason that I even know what the Canada Post tracking is for is because Wal-Mart sent me an email with the exact same tracking number a day later. Another thing that's bugging me about this, is CP allowed me to change my delivery preference before I became aware of the source, and I can only change it to something else, not cancel it. It's my understanding that this shouldn't mess up my Walmart order, but since it's now two days past the estimated delivery date, and STILL no revision....

In addition to this, I've been unable to log into my new TV/Internet/Phone provider's account setup because of some stupid technical linking glitch issue that even they haven't been able to fix. I sure as fuck hope this is somehow resolved before the end of the month, or else bill payment could get real interesting.

    CHEERS! :)

EDIT: The second issue has now been resolved, at least. There's just the niggling undelivered Walmart order, now.

Well, at least now I finally have an update as to the whereabouts of my Walmart online order, as of early this morning.

    Winnipeg.

Going by Canada Post, it appears that my Walmart order will somehow travel over 2,000 km and arrive at my post office destination in London by the end of the day!

Just gotta love these reliable tracking setups!:rolling-smiley:

    CHEERS! :)

My Walmart order just left Winnipeg this morning, more than 24 hours after it had arrived. The Sept 19 expected delivery placeholder still hasn't been updated, of course.

My Walmart order is finally in London!

Of course, the niggling "Where will it be delivered?" question remains; the post office preference I selected, or the Walmart on Highbury, where it's actually supposed to go?

The post office is within close walking distance. The Highbury Walmart, not so much!

    CHEERS! :)

I’m annoyed that every Friday afternoon, just as I’m getting off work, some knucklehead has a wreck on the I-430 bridge over the Arkansas river and snarls traffic for hours.
