what angle for spl?

    at what angle do most of you guys hold your spl meter i have heard straight up, 45 degree angle,horizontal facing center channel.which is the most accurate?

    shane, I'd say most just point it 45 degrees toward the ceiling from the listening position. But I think its just as important to keep the meter stable and your hands free by finding a camera tripod to put in the couch/chair with the meter at your ear level when seated. The RS SPL as you see comes with a camera body-type thread.

    I believe the instructions that came with my Radio Shack meter says Vertical.

    i agree with bill - it's more important to mount the spl with the tripod. your body blocking the sound will have more effect than the angle you hold the spl at will.
