I'm curious if you guys are going to buy the 950 + the 770 amp or use other amps?

I have have 7 Marantz MA 700's that'll I be using with the 950! Currently, I have a Pioneer receiver and a Parasound circle surround decoder (for matrix 7.1) with the monoblocks mentioned above.

I have the Outlaw 750 amp and I will be getting the ATI 1502 to power the two center surround channels. I think the ATI will be as close a match as possible for the Outlaw 750. I plan on getting Paradigm Mini Monitors for the 2 center surround speakers.

I picked up 3 acurus A200x3 amps from ubid for less than the price of the 770 (and I get two more 200W channels for extra subwoofers or bass shakers).

I have 2 Sony TA-N9000ES amps ( 5 x 115w) waiting for the Outlaw. I was wondering if connecting the right front speaker to an amp and the left front speaker to the other amp would give me better sound than if I connect both front speakers to the same amp.

    Good question!
I currently supplement my Denon 5700 with three Marantz MA700 monoblocks for the front soundstage (L/C/R). When I get the 950 I'll use the Denon's 5 internal amplifiers for all surround channels, at least temporarily while I find out if the 950 meets my needs. If it doesn't, it goes back and I revert to the Denon. If it does, I'll eventually replace the Denon with some other surround amps to recover the shelf space, but I'm not in any hurry at this point.

    Robert,
I'm very interested in how the Outlaw 950 compares to the Denon 5700 when used as a preamp. Please post your findings here after you compare them.

I am so desperate and dependent on getting a beta Outlaw 950 preamp that I will either use my current primary system using ATI amps or use their new 770 amp, or both, or additionally use my secondary system with Parasound 125w x 5 + 2 amps. I will..... aawwww nevermind. I may be bound by the Outlaw non-disclosure agreement... I hope!!!

Could anyone recommend a "non-existant, vaporware" amp that would match ...if you could, please start posting the date it will be released now so that I can pre order that amp for jan '03...I here the vaporware amp company will need beta-testers in the fall of '02...I don't care to evaluate the amp for sound quality, as long as it's factory direct and cheap, that' all I really care about

I am still not certain that I will get an Outlaw 950 I may go with an Adcom GTP-830 instead.
But either way I will be using (3) QSC USA 900 amps-THX Certifed and [email protected] ,total cost-$1200 total watts-2700 or about .44 cent a watt.

Thanks for the info Gregg! I am thinking of using a pair of acurus 200X3's and a Marantz MA700. Does anyone know how the Marantz would match up with Acurus amps? I hear they both put out a similar warm sound. I figured I would use the Marantz for my center channel and the Acurus amps for the rest. Any info would be helpful! Thanks!

What made you decide to go with pro amps vs audiophile?? And then specifically why the decision to go with the USA line from QSC?
I too am going to trial some QSC amps to see how they compare to the Outlaw product (the 750). I chose the DCAs as that is what I was steered towards.

I'm still not considering anything but the 770. I don't have a seperate amp now or a receiver that could be used as an amp, so my high hopes are on the 950/770 combo. I'm very optimistic it will be a great system.

I've got a 2 channel and a 3 channel Odyssey Stratos on order to use with the 950. Bet the amps arrive first [IMG] . Speakers are still not finalized.
