Originally I had planned on picking up an Xbox with my tax refund, but after some thought, I decided to get a PS2 instead, since there are more games on it I really want to play (namely, Grand Theft Auto 3, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Gran Turismo 3). This will be my first console system, so I need to know what accessories I'll need. I know I'll need to get a seperate A/V cable since I want to use s-video. I've also been told I'll need a memory card. Anything else? I dont plan on getting a 2nd controller right now, since none of the games I really want are for 2 players.

If you're going to play games for the origional playstation, be sure to get a regular playstation memory card as well. The PS2 memory cards aren't compatable with PS1 games.

If you have an extra 15 dollars don't forget the vertical stand. It serves no purpose whatsoever, but the PS2 looks so cool standing up. [IMG]

    Second Controller

    Licensed PS2 Memory Card

    Licensed PSOne Memory Card

    And you should be fine.

If you are going to run the audio through any kind of HT set up you'll want to get the optical cable as well.
