This is just a strange note, I get tons of junk mail all the time, but today, received one for a Wicked Pictures "adult" DVD offering.. (the TItle is Euphoria)

I'm not going to shell out $70 for it, but I didn't think THX would have anything to do with Porn, and what's the point of the DTS soundtrack?

I also noticed that porn actually pushes the DVD technologoy the most by consistently offering the multi angle feature which is in little used today. Concert DVD use it the most outside of porn.

DTS porn DVDs have been around for years (and at bargain basement prices). Why? Well - it caught your attention, didn't it?

So far as SEs -- I saw a review recently of a 4(!!) disc SE entitled Fashionistas (dir. John Stagliano with Rocco Siffredi) If anyone actaully sees the thing -- do report

Speaking of Siffredi, the latest issue of Film Comment mentioned that he is the star of yet another French art film (as opposed to "art" film...) Anatomie de l'enfer

There's a few labels that are interested in using quality to attract customers. The Private label filmed some of their porn in Egypt on the Giza plateau for example (talk about risking dehydration!).

I own the Fashionistas set. Its not a bad film. It is 2 discs for the feature since it runs 4 hours and 40 minutes. Disc 3 is the making of and behind the scenes and the 4th disc is a CD of the soundtrack. The whole thing was shot on film and it won a ton of awards when it came out. The film itself, the casual porn viewer might not like since it combines a lot of full on BDSM scenes with the sex.

In the 70s there was a porno movie called Panorama Blue, which was filmed in 70mm widescreen with multichannel sound. I've always wanted to see this, but I don't think it's ever been released in any form on video. The poster for John Holmes' "Eruption" says it was filmed in Scope also; there is a DVD of this but I don't know how the quality is.
