Went to Best Buy for JP3 tonight and had to go through about 100 copies of JP3 to find a widescreen. I took the only 2 they had left cause i got one for a friend. I am sick of Universal putting out separate versions of films.

[rant]I went to Hollywood Video to rent JPIII. I was surprised to see that they actually had some widescreen copies for rent. I picked one up, took it home, and popped it in the player. Guess what? Some @#%$^&*$#@ had put a pan & scan disc in a widescreen case! [/rant]

    Hey Dalton
I stopped by BB at lunch to get JP3 and for my surprise they had the same number of copies for FS and WS and for a bigger surprise there were more WS sold than FS. I guess people around here are starting to understand the love for OAR [IMG]

The WalMart near me had equal numbers of each version.

The BestBuy in Levittown, Long Island had plenty of Widescreen versions as well as Full Screen cases.

I'm happy to report that the Wal-Mart in Goderich, Ontario has only widescreen copies of The Grinch and Jurassic Park III (and previously The Mummy Returns). Our Blockbuster is a bit of a mixed bag though. They only had widescreen copies of The Mummy Returns for rent, but for The Grinch they only had fullscreen versions. [IMG]

    doesn't less copies of the
    w i d e s c r e e n
version mean that it sold more than the
    |a n & S c|
    version? [IMG]

Well, I made the mistake at my local Borders for
another movie that was P&S and WS. I got home and left it
on the table and went to do some work on my PC. Well,
my girlfriend decides to open it up and play it and
quickly told me there was "THIS FILM IS FORMATED FOR
YOUR SCREEN". UGH!!!! I finally talked them into letting
me return it for the WS version, available in 2 weeks. [IMG]
Fast foward, picked up JPIII w/o thinking about the two
different versions till about three blocks away from
the same store. Quickly looked in the bag and it said
    "WIDESCREEN." Whew!
So they at least ordered the WS version this time,
because I just grabbed it off a display right at the front door.
I do love the fact that my girlfriend is hip to the difference.

    I hate it.

    I wish it would stop.

Pan&Scan people should stick to VHS. They have no need to ruin my favorite widescreen format.

Rite-Aid only had the full screen versions available. They lost a sale there as BestBuy had the widescreen version. Why are people so ignorant as to what people want ?

Got stung. I was in rush today and picked up JPIII with checking. Took off the the wrap and even fill out the forms before realizing it was the lousy P&S. This is total BS.

Best Buy in Smyrna, GA looked like it had a lot more Widescreens than Pan&Scam.

I pre-ordered JPIII from my local Suncoast, and when I got there to pick it up, it said FULL SCREEN (even though every copy on the rack was Widescreen). They know how much I bitch about OAR, so I screamed "I KNOW you aren't trying to pass this bullshit off on me, hooker!" The girl was like "Oooh, I thought all our copies were widescreen." I told her she should send it back as defective... Heh.

Maybe we can make a suggestion to the
studios to put all P-n-S DVDs in bright
Pink packageing. That way, we can tell
the difference easily and the P-n-S cry-
babies will get a color-matched DVD case.
Luckly, the BB in my area had a huge floor
    display with all WS JPIIIs.
    Peace Out~[IMG]

Uh oh... I hope I picked up the widescreen version yesterday at Circuit City. I never even thought to look at the case when I picked it up. Doh...
