Howdy, y'all. Me and my fiancee went over to Strauss park (Dedicated to Ida and Isadora) on the Upper west side and now are making dinner and getting ready to settle in with "Titanic." Too bad we don't have the SE yet, but next year....

Next April 15, when I have the new SE in my hands.

This year, maybe I'll watch my National Geographic DVD about Ballard finding the wreck.

    Well, here we are again.
Got the SE this time finally! Anamorphic and DTS! I haven't watched the whole flick yet, just the docs. I always yell, "Iceberg, right ahead!" out the window on the anniversary. Will go over weird in Berkeley on a Friday nite. (or maybe not, actually...)
Actually we are gonna watch it on the nite of the 14th this year since it hit that nite and sank after midnite on the morning of the 15th.

I should spin up the high-def featurette that is included on the XBox 360 premium system.

My older daughter had mentioned to me just last night about wanting to put it in the player for a spin. Even after seeing it in the theater, getting the VHS releases (both fullscreen and widescreen), watching it on HBO and NBC, and now the SE DVD, I've still not gotten through it a complete second time. Maybe if James Cameron would give us the uber-edition with a full extended cut the same way we got the extended cuts of T2, Aliens, and The Abyss from him, maybe I could go through it. Oh well...

I might crank up my VHS collection of Titanic documentaries and "A Night to Remember" instead.

I'm surprised Paramount hasn't thought of doing a Titanic-style Star Trek film yet.

You can't rewatch it at 3 hours and 14 minutes but you want a longer cut? [IMG]

Shall be interesting. Got a big jug'o'wine to help her... 1st yr. I haven't gone to Strauss Park in my NYC 'hood... And I'd love to watch "Night to remember" but they don't have it in the local vid store and I ain't buying it until it gets a proper annie re-release.

Dave, so it's safe to assume you and your fiance will be toning down your Titanic role-playing games?
I imagine it'd be rather awkward for your future mother-in-law to hear you yell "I'm the king of the world!" from the next room -- assuming her daughter was also in there. [IMG]

Having just gotten the SE of Titanic and having sat and listened to the historical commentary I'll be listening to Cameron's or the cast commentary of the film. Ok maybe I'll watch the film itself. [IMG] I am though going to be watching it on the 15th going into the 16th [Saturday night]. Oh well a day late and a life boat short? [IMG] J/k

Well guys I noticed this thread the other day and read through it. I am not a huge Titanic fan and haven't watched the movie in some years. However, after listening to you all I sat down last night and watched it on HBO at midnight. I stayed up to late making it difficult to get up for work this morning but I enjoyed it. So thanks for letting join in on the fun.

*Side note: My wife works 2/3rd shift and got home at about 2:30am. She walked in and said "I'm surprised you stayed up so late to watch this". So I had to inform her that it was the cool think to do because HTF was doing it. I'm pretty sure she thinks I'm crazy.

The first rule of HTF is - you do not talk about HTF. The second rule of HTF is - you DO NOT talk about HTF.

I'm going to watch the film tonight as part of my yearly ritual. It's going to be cool because this will be the first time i'll watch the movie on my brand new 103" screen and SP 4805, I can't wait! [IMG]

Hey John, did you like the 'extended' cut?

Did it make the film too long, or too different?
