Funny, this is the second Weird Al life story parody. I had this on VHS back in the 80s. (Probably still have it somewhere)

One could also make a slight case for "Weird Al Yankovic: There's No Going Home," a spoof of Disney Channel's "Going Home" series, which first aired on the Disney Channel in December, 1996.

I remember that one. Especially when it's revealed his parents rented his old room out to Ed McMahon.

I think at least some of the footage from that special was a bonus on the Running with Scissors album that you could find if you put it in your computer back in the day.

Now, I'll have to dig out that CD and pop it into my DVD drive, LOL! :D

I remember watching The Compleat Al when I was a kid. I actually watched it again on on one of the streaming services a few months ago.

Saw this Friday.

A fun parody, very much in keeping with Al's parody songs. Gets pretty wild towards the end, but entertaining. Lots of celebrity cameos.

“Weird” is an quirky blend of brilliant parody biopic and adequate, made-for-TV movie. And having to suffer through forced garbage ads every 15 minutes tested my commitment to watching it — it’s 2022 and I don’t watch ads. The cast is amazing. Not their performances specifically. But that these all amazing actors were assembled for a single ridiculous movie is a big part of the fun. Moderately recommended for anyone who stayed up too late trying to catch Dr. D on a school night, ‘80s kids who listened to Eat It at high school youth group lock-ins, or fans of Evan Rachel Wood looking for her next great performance with West World canceled.
