Just moments ago, I've discovered that none of the Icons on my Windows 11 Taskbar are behaving as expected.

To put it simply as possible, to open any of the apps on the above taskbar, I now have to click on the icon to the right of the correct icon! (IE. The File Explorer Icon opens MediaMonkey; the Calculator icon opens VLC Media Player!) to open the desired app!!

The 2 exceptions are the Photo and Microsoft wave icons, which don't open ANYTHING. This is rather unfortunate, as I now cannot open either Messenger, or File Explorer on my Taskbar!

What on earth causes this issue? I've literally NEVER run into anything like this before, at least to my recall!

Any solutions? My google search attempts brought up similar type icon issues, BUT not this particular issue!

CHEERS! :)

That is a weird one! I'm still stuck in the I Have To Right Click Twice To Get A Response stage of Windows 11 on my new lappy.

AND.. I still want to know when the typing issue (if you know you know?) of typing a sentence or paragraph in any text program or window, and then going back to make a correction and when you start typing the cursor jumps wayyy up back into a random position further up and spoling the text.. When, oh, when did that bug start? Windows 8?

There's also the old standby bugaboo of text getting erased when typing in new text within a paragraph.

In regard to the my super weird icon taskbar issue, I might just restart my PC and see what happens, if anything. 🤔

CHEERS! :)

P.S. Of course, I've just discovered that most of the icons on my taskbar are now opening as expected, if a bit slowly. However, Windows Explorer doesn't open at all when I click that icon. 🤷‍♂️

Restarting my PC has in fact, appeared to have fixed whatever was causing my icon taskbar issue! Windows File Explorer comes up properly when I click the appropriate icon, now! 😮‍💨

I still am not comfortable in the Windows 11 environment. My new Dell lappy is maxed out in every way with memory, graphics, ginormous SSD storage.. But while it doesn't "lag" or get the slow-downs, it just responds weird compared to the old HP.

Maybe it is not The Farmer but, rather, The Gremlin In The Dell?

For me, I've been noticing weird responses more since switching my "monitor" from a 720p TV to a 4K TV and resetting the PC display to 3840x2160. Could also be such variables as fps and screen refresh rates at play. Overall, the tradeoff in higher screen resolution is well worth it, though the periodic weird responses are still annoying!
