Whoa, I didn't know Optimus Prime was Jewish! (quote from Family Guy, "When You Wish Upon A Weinstein")

    [c][IMG][/c]

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed advertisements, the Sunday of the week of release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website or perhaps in their ads...but it COULD still be in-stores!

$_"LP" means the advertisement says "Low Price", and $_"HP" means the advertisement says "Hot Price". Use of either of these in the Roundup grid indicates that I could not locate a definate price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I only include the titles I feel like including. In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. I have a lovely wife and a five-year-old son I'd rather spend time with. Please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like I do!

Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

    * BE CAREFUL! The Core and Malibu's Most Wanted are each available in both Widescreen and Fullscreen versions...get the correct one.

    * Non-OAR discs are left off the Roundup, whenever they've been identified in advance. Example: Casey's Shadow.

    * Best Buy: Sleeping Beauty comes with a free 3-song CD sampler, and RewardZone members get double points on this purchase.

    * Best Buy: Save $15 when you buy both 24: Season 2 and 24: Season 1 on the same transaction.

    * Best Buy: Save $10 when you buy both Family Guy: Volume 2 (3rd Season) and Volume 1 (1st & 2nd Seasons) on the same transaction.

    * Circuit City will save you $10 when you buy on the same transaction either the 24: Season 1 and Season 2 combo, or the Family Guy: Volume 1 and Volume 2 combo.

    * Circuit City is advertising A Mighty Wind this week, showing an availability date of 9/9. According to Warner's information system, the street date on this is 9/23. Perhaps they have struck a deal to release early as Best Buy has done with various Warner titles in the past, I'm not sure. All I know is that it's advertised for $19.99.

Anyone know if Circuit City will have Lawrence of Arabia on Tuesday? In the past I've had to wait a few days before they got copies in.

24 S2 and Sleeping Beauty. Costco's price for the latter is disappointing, but hopefully they'll make up for it with a great price on the former.

Although I've never seen a complete episode of Family Guy, I'm getting really tempted to purchased both boxsets based on the glowing comments made by many HTF members and others.

I was going to go for Leon SB to replace my regular copy but the advanced reviews haven't been that great. I think I'll hang onto the version I have.

As always, Dave, your Weekly Roundup is required reading for me (and I'm in Canada so those prices don't even apply here!). Your effort is greatly appreciated. [IMG]

If you spend $50 at the disney store, you get a $10 gift card. I preordered 2 copies of Sleeping Beauty and 1 for Lion King. They included lithographs, which are while supplies last.

Going to be a busy week for me:

    #1 Priority:
    Family Guy
    Lawrence Of Arabia
    Sleeping Beauty

    #2 Priority
    The Core(WS)
    Bulletproof Monk(possible rental)

I've got 3 $5 rewards coupons already and I hope that Best Buy has all or most of them. As long as I get Family Guy & Lawrence Of Arabia I'll be happy.

    Thanks as always Dave.

Oh bummer....I was expecting The Adventures of Robin Hood to arrive this week. It' either been delayed or Dave L. is a doofus for leaving it off his list.... :b

.....It's been delayed until 30 September.

But hey, any week with Lawrence of Arabia in it can't be all bad....[IMG]

I think my "buy" list is pretty much the same as Joe's: Family Guy Vol. 2 ([Quagmire]"All riiiight"[/Quagmire]) and LoA:SB no questions asked, maybe some others later. Then again, I'm still catching up some from last week online since most B&M's didn't have the titles I was looking for.

Thanks as usual Dave. Especially now that BB seems to have stopped doing their weekly ads in my local paper (???).

This is a bigger week for me than last week was.

24 Season 2 is the must buy, followed up by
    Leon SB
    Family Guy Volume 1 & 2
    Sleeping Beauty

And maybe Lawrence SB. I just love the packaging and extras of the Limited edition, but I can't see myself owning two copies of the exact same film.

I already ordered Neverwhere from Deep Discount which has an amazing price for it. I really loved the show when I saw it a number of years ago and am looking forward to it.

I don't think I'll be buying anything else for this week. That's a good thing as last week was a bank account killer.

On Neverwhere, Deep Discount DVD has it for $21.25, which probably is only good through tomorrow.

I already have 24:S2 and Family Guy V2 on order from Amazon via their Share the Love pricing ($44.09 and $31.49 , respectively, shipped!). I am also getting the Cat's Meow Signature Seriesfrom DDD. I think it's the same content as the previous disc but it's only $10 and I am a HUGE Bogdanovich fan so I want the director-"signed" package. :b

The only B&M purchase I am making this week is Confessions of a Dangerous Mind at Costco. I might check out CC in the off-chance they have A Mighty Wind early.

I have been making more and more purchases lately through Amazon's Share the Love program as I find it is often the lowest price, especially on box sets. I remember when Amazon used to be one of the more higher-priced places for DVDs so I am surprised I am purchasing so much from them now.
