Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain!
If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Thanks for the roundup. Nothing for me this week. Waiting for the later Transformers release (with features). Next week is a big one: African Cats, Lion King, Fast Five, Scream 4. Saving my credit card this week.

Just posted a link to MattCR's review of Mimic on blu in the OP.

I think I'll be checking out the Best Buy Combo Pack of Ben Hur ($29.99). I just don't know when. Maybe this week. Or, maybe I'll wait for the price to drop...some day.

I just posted the review for "The Stool Pigeon."

And in the Frezon tradition of including a still image from the fiim that highlights an attractive female character, even though she may not be the main character, here is a photo of Lunmei Kwai:

Two pretty decent movies for $15 at BB? Absolutely. Maybe Paramount can learn something from Warner by releasing the remaining Jason movies in high def like this...

Definitely the "Mimic" release. One of my favorite horror/sci-fi flicks, just in time for Halloween.

Thanks, Mike.

Probably nothing for me from this week's release slate (until some inevitable price drops later) although the Mimic BD looks a bit enticing at that price from Amazon.

FYI, apparently, folks over in blu-ray.com are reporting that Walmart is selling a (exclusive) movie-only 2-disc version of Ben-Hur on BD for ~$20. I'll probably just wait for the 3-disc UK version to drop some in price before eventually importing that (w/ my next batch of imports) instead.

Wracked with guilt (not to overstate it or anything) over neglecting to pre-order "Ben-Hur", I caved yesterday and paid the extra five bucks at Best Buy to have it in my hot little hands.

I really haven't wanted to acquire more Big Box Full o' Junk sets, but in my world, discs and books and good reproductions of film-related material don't count as junk and I had to have the stuff in this one.

Couldn't believe the size of the BB exclusive with the Roman soldier statuette -- it's twice the depth of the "regular" Big Box and the sucker felt solid, too. For about five seconds -- actually, less -- I was tempted to drop an extra sawbuck. But reason won out. If anyone does buy that, please report!

Ben Hur blu-ray + extras ... $26. I'm not interested in the bulky box set, but wanted the documentary and extras, which aren't on the Best Buy movie-only exclusive Blu-ray for $29. But if you order the same thing from Amazon.UK, you get all the documentary extras and movie Region Free, shipped for a total of $26 USD. A no brainer. (If you're like me and don't want the huge box).

I've heard sometimes not all the extras can be played when buying from UK. Do you know that 100% of this movie is playable here in the good ol' USofA? Does this have all the extras, just not the big box o' stuff? And why the hell do we get crap prices here while the same movie sells for so much less over there? BTW, is the version you're referring to this one? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ben-Hur-Ultimate-Collectors-Blu-ray-Region/dp/B003BNY6XU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317240612&sr=8-1 BTW, I got this link by navigating directly to Amazon UK and searching. I'm seeing that ref equals thingy. I hope that's not some sort of referral code. It didn't intend to that, if it is.

Here's what's on the UK version ... I wanted the making of doc, the Heston doc and the silent film -- all on there. Disc One & Two: The Movie • Newly remastered and restored from original 65mm film elements • Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio • Commentary by film historian T. Gene Hatcher with scene specific comments from Charlton Heston • Music-only track showcasing Miklos Rozsa's score Disc Three: Special Features • Charlton Heston: A Personal Journey (78 min) [HD] • Ben-Hur: 1925 silent version, from the Thames Television restoration with stereophonic orchestral score by composer Carl Davis (143 min) • 2005 Documentary: Ben-Hur: The Epic That Changed Cinema--Current filmmakers such as Ridley Scott reflect on the importance and influence of the film on modern epics (58 min) • 1994 Documentary: Ben-Hur: The Making of an Epic, hosted by Christopher Plummer (58 min) • Ben-Hur: A Journey Through Pictures--Audiovisual recreation of the film via stills, storyboards, sketches, music and dialogue • Screen tests (30 min) • Vintage newsreels gallery • Highlights from the 1960 Academy Awards ® ceremony • Theatrical trailer gallery As far as playability of extras, I can't confirm totally, but it's very clearly marked Region Free and I think those issues were with earlier releases. I've ordered several UK blue-rays and only had the issue with a BBC TV series "Life On Mars."
