Yes, (hence the winking icon) I can't imagine anyone who goes online could not know about the Star Wars DVD set. Also Lucas hasn't direct many movies, so unless there was a special American Graffti DVD coming out soon (Is that on DVD, BTW?) you had to be referring to SW.
I guess you are not accepting the fact that the original version of the SW Trilogy isn't included.
I just started coming to the coupons and bargains section. I saw that the CC price for L&O-S14 and L&O SVU-S5 was $4 cheaper for each set. I always go to BB for convenience and the Reward Zone benefits. I went to BB customer service and they gave me the CC price plus 10% extra off. I ended up saving $8 on each set from BB's original sale price. Saving that $16 means I got to buy another dvd! THANK YOU Mike! HTF rocks!
Wow! They did it right?!?! That's excellent! And, unfortunately, rare. We hear story after story here about employees who don't understand price-matching policies at their places of employment. Ran into it myself the other day. I price-matched a DVD and couldn't get the employee to understand the 10% of the difference of the two prices, etc. ADD TO THAT your story about how you frequent BB and probably would consider yourself to be a "valued or preferred customer" and that their treatment of you during this transaction seemed to reflect that, right? That's the way it oughta be.
Glad to buddy! Alot of the BB people have come to know me well. I spend alot of money on dvds there and I'm in there nearly every week. HT is one of my passions. I take it seriously and fortunately, my local BB takes my business seriously. They've always been really cool to me.
I've found BB to be good about price matching (except one time over the Indiana Jones Set, I've just posted the story in the "Who has the best star wars deal" thread) they have always given me the 10% which is usually not that much, but the fact they stick to the policy is good. Indy was a big difference and that was a nice 10% bonus savings!
My local WalMart did not have either edition of THX: 1138. I then went to BJ's wholesale club and they only had the 2-disc edition. I bought it there for $17.99 + tax.
"quote: -------------------- please both the purists and Blockbuster -------------------- Blockbuster has no problem stocking unrated films, so it wasn't done for them." ------------------- The quote above referred to Blockbuster's stocking an R-rated version of "Young Adam," instead of the NC-17 theatrical version.
But it does have a problem stocking NC-17's.
Blockbuster has apparently gone back to its previous odious policy regarding NC-17's -- while still having reams of "Unrated! -- The version you couldn't see in theaters!!!" teen trash (& other) flicks. Even though their shelves still carry fairly obscure and foreign NC-17 and "Unrated" versions, Blockbuster chose not to carry the NC-17 (theatrical version) DVDs of "The Dreamers" and "Latter Days." Instead, it has Blockbuster-ready "R" versions.
Before Blockbuster's Rewards program (they pay you to rent from them: 12 free rentals for $10), I hadn't been in one in years -- since they started banning NC-17 and Unrated films. Thanks to Netflix (which has the missing NC-17's), there's no need to go back.
