Quite a week this week...in terms of new releases.

David Lynch, Lin Manuel-Miranda, Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre, Jodie Foster, Robert Duvall, Jeff Bridges, Martin Sheen, Luke Wilson and Spirit the Horse. And that's just scratching the surface.

I really hope you find SOMETHING you like this week. There's quite a variety of quality content.

Safe shopping, Rounduppers! :D

Thank you, Mike!

In the Heights was so important to me that I made it my first movie back in a theater during the pandemic. I can't wait to own it and see it again this week.

I love Laika, so I'm certainly considering Coraline and The Boxtrolls. But I already have the previous editions of each from Universal so I'm not sure if I need to double dip right now. Amazon dropped the price of The Boxtrolls to $14.96 from the $22.98 you listed in the grid. $15 each for new editions of catalog titles is certainly reasonable and less than Disney would charge. But I'm not really sure why the only option on these new editions is to buy them individually.

I would be even more inclined to repurchase if all four films that Laika is reissuing (including ParaNorman and Kubo which are coming out in a couple weeks) were bundled together in a Blu-ray only set for about $40. Universal put out bundles every time Laika released a new film with them so I'm not sure why Shout wouldn't do the same. That would be an even better savings and drop the DVD of each, which I'd never use.

Amazon sent me shipping confirmation for In the Heights at 1:05am local time. It's supposed to arrive today.

It's really amazing how late they can do that prior to release and more likely than not get it here on time. (Knock on wood.) I remember when I used to get shipping emails from them on a Saturday or Sunday beforehand to get something on the day it came out. They've certainly gotten bigger and faster.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Coraline is now showing a new delivery date of September 17-26 if I were to order it right now. The Boxtrolls says September 10. I'm not going to get these right now, but I am curious if anyone who pre-ordered them will actually receive them on the release date as Prime members should.

Although I love them all, Kubo and the Two Strings is my favorite Laika movie by a wide margin, so I have the new edition of it pre-ordered. I'm not yet sure if I will keep it or cancel before release. but if I was going to double dip for one Laika title, Kubo would be the one. So I'm thinking about it. My pending order of that one still does not have a delivery date attached to it, even though it comes out two weeks from now on September 14.

Does Amazon typically have stocking problems with Shout Factory discs, ori is this unique? I have a few previous Shout releases and I don't remember delays of this nature on those.

It is likely due to continued replication issues across all studios. I've had review product from nearly everyone arrive late and/or in a lower resolution than originally requested, or not arrive at all.

Pretty light week for me. May pick up Dune at some point as a curiosity of the 80's, but it's not a must-have right now.
