Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed advertisements, the Sunday of the week of release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website or perhaps in their ads...but it COULD still be in-stores!

$_"LP" means the advertisement says "Low Price", and $_"HP" means the advertisement says "Hot Price". Use of either of these in the Roundup grid indicates that I could not locate a definate price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I only include the titles I feel like including. In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. I have a lovely wife and a five-year-old son I'd rather spend time with. Please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like I do!

* A couple of weeks ago, some catalog titles slipped underneath my radar screen and got missed in the Roundup. Released on 5/20 were The Comancheros, North To Alaska, Flight of the Phoenix (those three were mentioned in those last two Best Buy deals), The Long Hot Summer, & BRUBAKER (the last is a favorite of mine! ). This probably happened the most because of the low-key way that retailers handle catalog titles...these didn't appear on anyone's "new this week!" list and certainly not in anyone's ads. Even Amazon didn't appear to list them until after the street date. :frowning: It's shabby treatment, but understandable I guess in that every title can't be promoted as a blockbuster and overnight-shipped in. At least they can stock them on their shelves a few weeks later? It seems not: for the last two, I spent a significant amount of time yesterday looking for these in all the retailers I go to in my immediate neighborhood (Best Buy, Circuit City, Costco, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Suncoast, Target). No dice. I will venture farther than that to Borders and see if these are there, where the catalog pickings are usually very good. If not, I'll just head on-line to grab these...no sense in waiting for a jewel like Brubaker.

* And, on that note, I'll mention that both Best Buy and Circuit City's websites are very ambiguous about whether the Sneakers listing is for the old version or the new Collector's Edition. Both list only one release, at a very low price. Normally I'll believe this to be the old version, but Universal's releasing this CE at an extremely low price (SRP $14.98). So it's believable that $9.99 and $12.99 are the store prices for this new version. Wanna take bets as to how many weeks (or is it months?) it will be before they stock it, though? :rolleyes

Well, it's about 2/3 the same as the episode that aired. In the alternate version, there's a subplot about hot burritos, but Cartman is forced to eat all of them by bullies (the fifth graders I think?). We also see Cartman with a full family!

About Schmidt I really enjoyed in the theater, and once I get it my younger brother can rest assured he will be unpleasantly surprised when he logs on to his PC and sees the Kathy Bates screen capture I will place on his desktop. David great roundup as usual. Just thought I would let you know about these Wal-Mart bundles this week:
Die Another Day: Comes free with a music sampler soundtrack, I think it has 4 or 5 songs, don't remember which exactly though.
Fast and the Furious: Comes free with a replica car from the movie, the car is hot wheel size, there's more then one packaged with the movie, I know for sure the green Eclipse is one of them.

I thought I saw an ad in a magazine that said if you buy both Black Hawk Down: Special Edition and Tears of the Sun (June 10th) at Circuit City, you get a five dollar rebate. I'll probably end up doing that, especially since Circuit City already has the Black Hawk Down for five dollars less than Best Buy.

I'll probably get the 2 for $25 T2 deal at Best Buy also.

I love when we get the roundup early. You ever think of skipping the latest markdowns from the various sights? Would that help lighten your load? Maybe you could just provide the links instead. I do not think the membership would mind seeing as how you do so much every week. We like to keep our people happy. If you are getting a little frustrated, maybe cutting back is the answer. We would never want to lose the roundup.

NOTE: I'm beginning to dread these first-week-of-the-month lists!
