    The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed advertisements, the Sunday of the week of release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website or perhaps in their ads...but it COULD still be in-stores!

$_"LP" means the advertisement says "Low Price", and $_"HP" means the advertisement says "Hot Price". Use of either of these in the Roundup grid indicates that I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I only include the titles I feel like including (or the ones Dave tells me he's looking for ;o)). In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. So, please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like Dave & I do!

Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii. Also note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the standard Roundup: they set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is not a way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. When it comes to Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices mentioned at all, just remember that "Your Mileage May Vary".

    The Specials

**BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL! Diary of a Mad Black Woman AND The Pacifier are available in both OAR and MAR versions...get the correct one!

    [IMG]Another dull week, folks.

--Best Buy is advertising a DVD EXCLUSIVE to their stores – The Best of Welcome Back, Kotter. Gave Kotter (Gabe Kaplan) returns to his former high school, teaching his former remedial class…the Sweathogs. Cath six “best of” episodes from the hit TV series that launched John Travoltra’s career. It is priced at $14.99.

--Best Buy is offering another exclusive deal to its Reward Zone Club members. Buy Diary of a Mad Black Woman ($17.99) and save $5 on any of these other Tyler Perry DVDs: Madea’s Class Reunion, Madea’s Family Reunion, Meet the Browns, I Can Do Bad All By Myself. $14.99 each before savings.

--I’m making an exception and posting another advertised Best Buy deal…although it’s not on new releases this week. Our Lowest Advertised Price on Pirates of the Caribbean, Mulan, Aladdin, Brother Bear, Haunted Mansion and The Three Musketeers of $8.99! (Regular $14.99 to $22.99 each) That is an awesome deal. They say it’s their way of celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland! [IMG]

--Target’s got an EXCLUSIVE bonus disc with its copies of The Pacifier ($16.99). …with sneak previews of The Chronicles of Narnia, The Greatest Game Ever Played, and Sky High. Packaged together. No rain checks.

    The Appeal

Do you like the Weekly RoundUp? …and you probably like talking with other HT enthusiasts about your hobby and the latest new releases? PLEASE HELP SUPPORT THE HOME THEATER FORUM!!!

Operating the HTF is not free for Parker and Ron. That is why there is advertising throughout the forum and there has been the occasional membership fund drive. THERE IS AN EASY WAY FOR YOU TO HELP…AND IT’S FREE OF CHARGE!

If you would simply link to the Portal Page when you start your visits to the HTF, that act alone would bring revenue to the forum. While it would also be nice if you wanted to click on some of the advertisers’ links and check out their deals and sales (that form of “window shopping” would bring even more revenue to the forum), the simple act of landing on the Portal Page registers a “hit” or “impression” that creates revenue for the HTF.

So, if you’ve been “sneaking in” to the HTF through links to your favorite thread or forum, please help out by taking an extra second of your time and landing first on the HTF Portal Page. THANKS!

For those interested, Twilight Zone Season 3 should (depending on your location) be available at Costco for under $60.

Thanks Mike, nothing for me this week.

Only one (albeit expensive) thing for me this week, The Twilight Zone season 3, which allows me to continue catching up on past week's purchases.

I'm also intrigued by the Sid Caeser collection. Anyone know anything about it?

"Homicide" S7 is coming from DDD, and DVD Savant's review of The Browning Version has me interested in ordering that title from Amazon, but for the 2nd week in a row nothing from the B&M's for me.

Looks like things will start to pick up a bit next week (Warner Film Noir Box #2, for starters).

    Thanks as always, Mike.

Costco also has Twilight Zone Seasons 1 and 2 for the same approx. $56 price. I grabbed Season 2 yesterday.

This is a great opportunity to play catch up during an otherwise uneventful DVD week! Stock seems fairly limited (one box at my store), so I'd probably move quickly if you're interested. FYI, Season 1 no longer includes the TZ Companion book.

    Jay

P.S. Thanks as always, Mike! You da man [IMG]

If anyone is a fan of British humor/sticoms or Shaun of the Dead, I highly suggest Danger! 50000 volts. It's a British sitcom starring Nick Frost (Simon Pegg's real life best friend and Shaun of the Dead co-star). Nick basically tells the audience how you'll be able to survive all these ridiculous scenario's that could kill you. Examples: How to survive a falling elevator. How to survive in a desert with no water. How to survive a crocodile attack. How to survive a zombie invasion. How to survive being trapped in a land mine field. Really funny stuff! And the solutions he presents are actually legitimate, so it's educational (as ridiculous as it sometimes seems) at the same time. I bought the British edition of this disc about 6 months ago and haven't regretted my purchase at all!

Thank you, Mike; I'll be Zoning out this week and the wallet will be a little happier because of your work.

george - I believe the Sid Caesar collection is a repackage of previously-released VHS tapes. You may want to check for yourself via e-tailers; compare the contents of this release to something like "The Magic Of Live Television." (I may have to get this myself as a more permanent format for Benny Goodman's appearance on the show; another fan sent me a tape from the kine. I believe on the previous release the sketch/music was broken apart, one piece as a "bonus" item.)

Mike, I sincerely hope that isn't the actual cover for Dirty Mary Crazy Larry - it's awful (and contains a spoiler). [IMG]

The Ren & Stimpy Show: Season Three
The Twilight Zone: Season Three (which I was lucky enough to find already[IMG] )
The Twilight Zone (1985): Seasons Two And Three

george: Here is Sid at Amazon

Tried to post it last night...but had some trouble getting through to the HTF.

Hope your boy had a great birthday! [IMG]

Jeff_A: Here's the actual cover. The pic I posted was an old theatrical poster.

I may be looking for The Browning Version soon. I'll probably wait for one of those 25% off coupons from Borders.

    Thanks for the link Mike.

And yes, he had a great birthday. Of course, part of it was watching a movie, but all of his friends wandered off before it was over - none of them have the kind of movie attention span my son does. [IMG]
