Hey everybody!

I'm looking forward to seeing Deadpool soon. It's on the way to me this week and sounds like a really fun flick.

Some really nicer catalog titles coming from Twilight Time and Criterion.

Thanks in advance for any "likes" of the OP.

And happy shopping! :D

Thanks for the Roundup, Mike. The Best Buy steelbook for Deadpool looks cool, but I'm over the premium pricing for steenboks recently, so I'm going to pass, and I have a feeling the film itself will find itself the recipient of a quick price drop, so as long as I'm out of the market for the retailer exclusives, I'm just going to hold off on the disc for a little bit also. But it is a fun movie and I will add it to my collection probably before the end of the year. Nothing else for me this week either.

Marvel titles don't seem to see the price drops like other titles. I waited forever for a drop on "Guardians of the Galaxy" and never saw much less than $20. Same with "Ant Man" (I think saw it for $18 once). I finally picked up a used copy of "Guardians," still don't have "Ant Man."

Except that all those Marvel titles are Disney, and Deadpool is handled by Fox, which consistently drops prices relatively quickly. I would be really surprised if this wash't at $10 by Black Friday or earlier.

Thanks, Mike!

I'll be heading to BB tomorrow to grab Spotlight & Crimson Peak for a Hamilton apiece. Will eventually get Deadpool as well, but like Jake I'll wait for the price drop.

Good point. I'd forgotten this was not a "Marvel" Marvel movie.

I've been assured by Fox that the review copy of Deadpool is on the way, but it hasn't arrived yet. Some exciting Twilight Time titles I'm looking forward to reviewing, too.

Thanks, Mike!

Thanks Mike!

Just Deadpool for me. On the fence about the Best Buy Steelbook. On one hand, it looks really cool (and has the ridiculous Deadpool fireside photo on the inside of the case!). On the other hand, I'm not sure it's $5 extra cool. I'm just happy it's 2D only, so I don't have to buy the 3D upgrade I'll never watch to get the digital copy that will come in handy.

I agree. I will not support exclusives that charge more like Target and Best Buy did with The Force Awakens.

Lucky for me, the Target exclusive Deadpool is the same price. A red case and post cards from the locations he mentions during the film sounds like fun!

I agree, but I pre-ordered it from Target and everywhere on its website I see it for $22.99 which is what I paid. I do not see it for $19.99 does anyone else?

Target. Com often has a higher pre-order price before the actual price has been set.

I will be under $20 next week at Target.

–Best Buy also has a list of $9.99 Blu-rays: Spotlight, Everest, Crimson Peak and Pitch Perfect 2. - See more at: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/weekly-roundup-5-10-2016/#sthash.squlBLcJ.dpuf

So...I somehow got myself to Best Buy this morning and figured I would like to pick up a copy of Everest for $9.99.

I looked and looked and looked and couldn't find a copy anywhere. I finally find a copy in the world's smallest "drama" section (silly me thought I'd find it in the "action" section. But as I was looking I couldn't find a section for those four titles listed as $9.99 for the week. But there WERE free-standing displays with discs "$4.99 and up," "$7.99 and up," "$5.99 and up," "$11.99 and up", "new releases," "recent releases," "TV recent releases" and "this that and the other thing." Well, just about anyway. Honestly, what a muddled mess. No wonder I couldn't find anything.

But here's the worst part:

NO indication at all that these titles were marked down.

It's been quite a while since I've purchased discs at BB (this might have been my second trip there this year). It all came rushing back to me why I was staying away.

Of course the disc rang up at $9.99 (and Amazon has it listed for $19.96 right now), so it worked out. But, c'mon.

I also picked up two other blind buys I found for $4.99: Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

I've found that's been the norm at BB for a long time, Mike. Their sections are a mess and their signage is pitiful. I always go in with my phone and research the BB.com price.

I know I shouldn't have to, but that's the only way to do it.

That's basically been my Best Buy for the last year or two as well. I honestly don't think my store has a person working in the Blu-ray/DVD/CD/video game section when the store is open anymore so I can't imagine anyone putting up sale signs in that department before the store opens. Media sales are definitely down from the heyday of DVD but when you think how easy it would be for a manager to tell someone to put up a handful of sales tags or *gasp* do it themselves, it's indicative of how low sales have dropped (and it's also indicative of the quality of Best Buy).

Lack of sale signage would seem to be a a pretty significant problem, especially when their print advertising usually says "additional sale titles available in store." There's no way to ID those titles without signs. BB's corporate office may want to know about stores that are not promoting their sales.

I haven't noticed this in the two stores I visit most often. It would be disappointing if this is a trend, as I often walk up and down the aisles, scanning for sale tags, to find titles I'll consider buying.
