The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The Specials

--It looks like another week without a Sunday flyer from Best Buy. The ol' Weekly RoundUp may be in another time of transition.

--Target this week has an EXCLUSIVE RELEASE of Paddington. It includes a Meet Paddington book and lenticular packaging.

--Target also has the following titles on sale this week (all DVD unless otherwise noted):

$10.00: Divergent

$14.99: Big Eyes, Wild, Foxcatcher, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Brave, Cinderella

$15.99: Maze Runner

$17.99: Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

$19.99: The Best of Me (Blu), Gone Girl (Blu)

--Target Odds and Ends: A list of DVDs for $8 (ET, Gatsby, Life of Pi, We're the Millers, They Come Together, Django Unchained, 42, White House Down).

Thanks for the prices, Mike.

We put in for the review copy of Wolf Hall which I've been enjoying so much on PBS. Hope it comes this week for review.

Thanks for the prices. Just FROM A WHISPER TO A SCREAM for me this week. I'll eventually rent INHERENT VICE.

I do find it somewhat hysterical that HARRY AND SON costs more than THE VERDICT, COOL HAND LUKE and THE HUSTLER combined.

Well, it's not every day we get a Robbie Benson movie in the WRU!

No wonder it's so expensive...

I'll probably pick up Inherent Vice this week. I appreciated the movie more once I read the book.

Hey! What gives?!?

How'd you get one? I couldn't find one on Saturday...and I got nuttin' in my Sunday paper.
Maybe it's regional? Like they're testing areas to see when and where they can best spend their money on ads. Last week, no ad anywhere so they'll look at how they did in terms of sales as compared to a time when they had an ad. This week, they'll put an ad out in a few spots and see if that bumps up spending in those areas or if sales are the same with and without an ad. Or maybe your paper screwed up and you just didn't get one. :)

Thanks for the Roundup, Mike, which saved me a lot of money by confirming there is nothing I want this week.

It is what I do.

Except, of course, when it turns out that there's a bunch of stuff we might want!

This week...Little Man Tate is on it's way to me. Great film.

Maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow, but this will be mine eventually. (I don't know why they even bother pricing catalog titles like this at $30.)

When I was in college, I could recite the entire film from memory. My lab partner and I used to regale the class with selected scenes during experiments. :)

There's nothing new for me, but that Every Marvel Movie on sale at Best Buy - generally cheaper than Amazon by a couple of bucks - just dinged me for 200 smackers. (I had none of them up to this point. So yeah. At least they could have thrown in some Movie Money for Avengers Two, damnit!)

It was in my paper, too. Maybe it's an issue with your local newspaper?

Dunno.

It was the Free-Press that let me down two weeks ago...but I guess there was no BB flyer anywhere then. (I was in VT for a family wedding, Malcolm. At the Catamount Country Club, in fact. I was thinking how nearby I was to you. The wedding was at Calvary Baptist in Essex Junction.)

For anyone interested, the Lady and the Tramp Legacy Collection (2 disc set) is officially available from Intrada. Price is $19.99 and a few bucks shipping...no tax. The next release is slated for next week (May 6) and it's the DisneyLand 60th Anniversary set. Available in parks and at disneystore.com based on what I'm reading, though I can't find a link yet.

FWIW, the Lady and the Tramp link wasn't on the Intrada website until this morning.

The NEXT release (Cinderella) is already on Amazon for preorder...

Jason:

Where am I gonna find info on that DL 60th release? Looked on both Intrada & Amazon and found nuttin'.

BTW, picked up this CD this week. if you have any love for the Main Street Brass Bands in any of the parks...this is for you. But don't get it from Amazon. I ordered mine from Amazon.jp. Much cheaper. And super quick (two days via DHL) delivery.
