(CC) after a title = New release in the Criterion Collection.

Individual titles included in box sets listed above:

Clint Eastwood: American Icon Collection: Play Misty for Me, The Eiger Sanction, Coogan’s Bluff, The Beguiled.

Sam Elliot Westerns Collection: The Desperate Trail, Rough Riders, You Know My Name.

The Skulls Trilogy: The Skulls, The Skulls II, The Skulls III.

The Disclaimer Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

I fail to see the sense in releasing the three Wallace & Gromit shorts on three seperate discs when they've seen no fewer than three incarnations as a collection.

Wow, it's Monday night and I'm only the 10th post in the thread? Wow, with CC not in the RoundUp anymore, I guess no one's interested in the thread. ;)

Or maybe it's because of this week's releases, none of which I'm picking up. Though I'll be getting a few of the Blu catalog titles down the road when they're cheaper.

I blew my proverbial wad the last two weeks at CC sales. Picked up five movies on Saturday at 40% off, not to mention a Best Buy run right afterward.

Don't know if this counts but I got myself a Yamaha RF Demodulator APD-1 (for the laserdisc) and two DTS laserdiscs for $65 shipped. Came out pretty good.

This is one of the most boring RoundUps ever! There. Someone had to say it!

And while the quantity of new titles takes a dive in future weeks...there are, at least, a couple of interesting things in there.

===========================

In the meantime, I've been keeping busy as my local FYE (TransWorld) stores are featuring a 40% off any ONE used item in their current flyer. This is good thru 2-14-09. Picked up an interesting "get" or two. This is the most I've purchased in a looooooooooooooooooong time.

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout! Shopping in the USED bin...AND at 40% off! For example, I picked up a BD of Vicky Christina Barcelona for $12! (40% off $20). FYE's new prices are awful (For example, I saw Amadeus behind the counter tonight waiting to make it's FYE debut at $35.99!). Even their used prices are still pretty high. But, grab 40% off and they're pretty darn good.

Mike, is that 40% off at FYE a coupon or can you just walk into the store and get the deal?

I'll be getting Amadeus on Blu -- once they release the theatrical cut, that is!

Aaron: It's a coupon...good only on used CDs/DVDs. I had one guy once refuse to accept it on Blu-ray, but a number of others took it with no problem.
The good thing is...most stores have supplies of the flyers at the stores...right inside the door or near the register.

Of course, YMMV.

Thought that $22.99 for a BD at Best Buy seemed unusual, and that it matched Amazon's price as well. Also I bought Tales from the Darkside there and it rang up at $29.99 not $25.99 so beware.

Hmmm. Wonder if Bestbuy.com is now matching up against Amazon? But not doing the same in-store, I guess.

For the record, there have been some Round-Uppers who have reported success getting their local BB to price-match the prices at bestbuy.com. Others, not so much.
