Hey RoundUppers! Merry Christmas!

full

I am about to start my 22nd year of compiling the Weekly RoundUp.

I have never reported this before…but…there is not a single, new release scheduled for the week of December 24, 2024.

So I will wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I’m looking forward to what new releases await us in 2025.

Well, I always want to thank you for your work, Mike. So thank you for the work you would have done if anything new had come out for this week. And, of course, for all of the extensive work that you do year-round for us with the Roundup. It is always very much appreciated.

Cheers!

*22 YEARS!* Wow, what a milestone, Mike! Thanks for being there for us all over the decades. You are an institution at HTF, and I can only speak for myself, but the Roundup has always been invaluable to me when it comes to draining my wallet!

No new releases this week sounds good to me! Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Thank you for your hard work compiling these lists. Much appreciated.
Ironically, this is the first time in years that I have received a notification of a new posting (yours) in this thread. Of course, there is no news at all!

You've been complaining about not getting those notifications for a while, haven't you, Jose?

We may now have a clue. Because THIS is the first new post I've made in this forum that wasn't originated as a WordPress document (the kind that makes you click on another link to read the content of the OP (disc reviews are posted in the same manner). I'm gonna see if this "clue" is of interest to our in-house guru @andrew .

Remember THIS GUY, Doug?!? What a slacker!

Dave Lambert started the thing back in the super-early days of the HTF. I took it over in January 2004 when he took off for other opportunities. But there's so many old-timers on the forum that I'm still often thought of as "the new guy!"

That's intersting - it certainly shouldn't matter, but if I've learned anything during my time with XF, logic isn't in play! If you want to test a few threads in the testing forum and see if it consistently doesn't notify from WP initiated posts and does from direct XF posts I'd be interested see the results.

Usually Christmas and New Years weeks feature some of the worst movies of the year as new releases.
Occasionally, we get a gem in this window. Out of curiosity, I looked back and found that The Holdovers was my first new Blu-ray purchase of 2024. It came out back on January 2 so would have been in the final combined Roundup last year.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, as Mike welcomed in his 22nd year

The egg nog was spilled all over his fleece, as he ran through the pricing of each new release

Puppies and kittens they tumbled nearby, as he perused flyers with his tired old eyes

No more Best Buy or Target, retailers were slim, but the internet sizzled he thought with a grin

So up to his office, he flew like a flash, threw open his laptop, to check out the stash

There was Bullmoose and WalMart and Amazon too, he could still make his list with even these few

And list them he did like a jolly old elf, even noting the ones he would buy for himself

He clicked and he pointed, moused and he typed, added pictures and posters to add to the hype

No matter how far he might have to go, he'd gather and list each new TV show

Each movie, each Blu-ray, in well scripted font, there in his round-up for each buyer's want

He knew physical media would continue to thrive, Mike Frezon was the man to keep it alive

His task now complete he shed not a tear, just wished all Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year

Oh my.

Reggie. I am overwhelmed. So generous of time and spirit. THANK YOU!

I would have responded earlier, but I'm just now seeing this as I have been under the weather with a nasty virus amidst all the holiday trappings! And now I regret saying this was the "nothing to see here" edition of the RoundUp, because this one might now be my most favorite ever! :D

@Mike Frezon Thanks to your concern about my inability to receive your Weekly Roundup (and also Reviews), now I receive notifications for both. Whatever magic you guys did behind the scenes fixed my problems. Thanks to all involved. And a happy new year!

Just a little holiday fun to give you a smile, Mike.
