The Disclaimer Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Hey, Folks! Thanks to everyone for the kind words below. The RoundUp was a few hours late this week. The above pictures reflect my reality right now. As of last night, there were 240,000 people in my immediate area without power. Much of the city of Rensselaer is still without power. We’ve been lucky enough to have power at my house for most of this storm, but my parents have had to move in with us….while my dad has also been admitted to the hospital for a bout with pneumonia. Bottom line: things are a little crazy for me right now.

Am I crazy or is "Burn After Reading" coming out on December 23rd?

Everything else lists the 23rd as the release date except Amazon but they say it's the 21st which is odd because that's a Sunday.

It looks like the listing is a mistake (which would be understandable considering the circumstances) but I hope it's accurate because I'd certainly like to get it a week earlier.

Mike, after living in Upstate New York for over forty years (22 of them in Syracuse) before migrating to the Midwest, I know too well how nasty these winter storms can be. I used to dread the words "lake effect!" My thoughts go out to your and your family. I hope your father is feeling better and things return to normal very quickly at the house.

As far as the RoundUp goes, this will be a Blu week for me. I found out on Friday that two Criterions I ordered during the last Deep Discount sale (The Third Man and Bottle Rocket) both shipped. That's the good news. What is strange is that about a half hour after I placed my original order in November, I got an email saying the discs were not available and that the order was cancelled. So, it's a good thing I did not order them elsewhere. I am not complaining mind you since DD honored their original pre-order sale price (with the free t-shirt) plus the 25% off discount! Since I still have a couple Reward Zone certificates to redeem, I will use them to get The Man Who Fell To Earth since I didn't order it from DD. I am going to pass on the other two Criterions since the titles don't really appeal to me.

One thing that strikes me odd though is why BB has three different prices for the four Criterion BDs being released this week. They all have the same list price, yet Bottle Rocket is $7-$8 more than the other three. Weird!

I'm actually buying this week! Mom is getting the single disc Mamma Mia! for Christmas and I get the 2 disc for myself. Since price doesn't look like a factor, I will have to check out if anyone has any "exclusives" included (maybe Target has a deal with some free Market Pantry Hummus....)

Mike, I managed to pop on last night at about 10 after midnight and it wasn't until then that I realized you could have been one of the many folks without power. Glad you escaped it relatively unscathed and I hope your family is doing well, especially your Dad.

We were one of the lucky ones. Never lost power, just lost a few trees on our property. As you can imagine, with my job (news-photog), I have seen a lot of the damage. Still, yesterday I managed to snap off a few non-destruction shots...

Best wishes that your dad's quick recovery. I live near the East Coast of Massachusetts and we lucked out with just getting heavy rain on Thursday. My friends a little further out west and in New Hampshire, not so much. :frowning:

I think this week I'll just be picking up a copy of the Godfather set for my dad at Circuit City and maybe Burn After Reading for my mom.

I live on the South Shore of Massachusetts, and, like Shawn, only had to deal with the heavy rain. I knew the Worcester area in central Mass was really hit hard with the ice (1,000,000 people without power), but I never thought about the people even further out west, like you! Hope everything is ok, with you and yours, especially your Dad! Stay warm!
