I can't stand that kid...he's a menace!

[c] [/c]

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, the week of the release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website...but it COULD still be in-stores!

I only include the titles I feel like including. In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. I have a lovely wife and a four-year-old son I'd rather spend time with. Please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like I do!

Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

* BE CAREFUL! Serving Sara is available in both Widescreen and Fullscreen versions...get the correct one.

* Non-OAR discs are, as usual, entirely left off the Roundup. Examples: The Master of Disguise, Dennis the Menace Strikes Again, Free Willy 3: The Rescue.

* I've moved Target into the Roundup grid this week. Here's why: they have good prices (maybe not always the lowest on the street, but still usually competitive) and often lately they have more Roundup titles for me to list than either Costco or Sam's. K-Mart does, too, but I'm going to discontinue looking very hard at them, as they are no longer even in the ballpark (it's rare to find them discounting new releases these days). This week isn't the best example, as actually the same 2 titles I list for Target in the grid can be found at K-Mart for 4¢ less, but this is definately the exception, and not the rule. And, with K-Mart closing so many more stores, it just makes sense. So, to sum it up: I'm dropping K-Mart as a routine, and moving Target to the grid. Now you don't have to scan the bullet points in the Roundup post anymore to compare the base prices; you should see it all in the grid. If Target (or Circuit City or Best Buy or anyone else) runs a special "get this and get that together at a special 'combo' price" deal, I'll continue to mention it in a bullet point. If K-Mart (or CompUSA or Borders or anyone else) who isn't routinely listed in the Roundup has a great price on something, I'll mention it in a bullet point.

* Like this combo deal: Best Buy gives you a free $10 gift card, when you purchase $50 in Music and Movies. "Limit 3 $10 cards per customer, on purchases up to $150. In-store only. Cards good on future purchases only." Looking at the prices this week on the non-kiddie titles, they would HAVE to offer this incentive in order to remain competitive with Circuit City. I guess it depends on how much you plan to spend, though. A good deal, but only if you plan to load up.

Yeah this Has to be the Worst Week of the Year. I'd Pick up UFO Set #2 if I had the Money will have to wait to order that in a few weeks from DDD , other wise Nothing. Next week has some decent stuff coming out. Already have the Next All in the family set ordered, then there's the next Sanford set, Predator 2, Money Pit, New Thelma and Louise it's a pretty good week. If I have money by then that is...

Actually, Dennis the Menace Strikes Again was direct to video, so 1.33:1 is it's OAR. Now Master of Disguise and Free Willy 3 are pan and scan.

Nothing for me this week at all. Quite a rarety!! ;)

Dave - good move on Target vs. K-Mart. The "K" is hurting bad - they are pulling out of Houston entirely.

Great price on Serving Sara. For some reason I thought it was hilarious, although the (mostly full) theater I saw it at didn't seem to think so.

Matthew, thanks for the heads-up about Strikes Again. FWiW, I don't have to add to the Roundup. Each chain is selling it for the same price as the first feature. :)

[rant]Also, was reminded that the Best Buy deal for $10 gift card on a $50 purchase IS FOR SUNDAY ONLY![/RANT] So head to Circuit City for the "adult" new releases after all...no breaks at big blue&yellow! :frowning:

Thank god for the easy weeks. I could definitely use a break from software to save up for some new hardware :D. The only thing I will be picking up this week is the new Zwan CD (CC has the best price).

I can't believe noone wants Spongebob Squarepants, at least!

BTW, experience with SbSp and Costco is that, despite no listing at Costco.com they will indeed usually have the new release on Tuesday. Usually for $13.99, so that's where I'm checking first!

Hey now! I'll definitely be getting Spongebob this week!:D

I'll probably check Target first. They've included free storybooks on a couple of the previous releases, but I always missed them because I picked them up at BB first. My son's a huge Spongebob fan, and his birthday's coming up in a week or so. I didn't even know this was coming out, so I'm thrilled to see it listed. Makes gift-buying easier.

Yeah, Spongebob for me...my 13 year old used to be a big fan, and now I'm a big fan...

Those 'toons really crack me up (especially Mrs. Puff)
