I guess what I like most about my movies is that they're not about special effects.
    [c][IMG][/c]
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, the week of the release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website...but it COULD still be in-stores!
I only include the titles I feel like including. In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. I have a lovely wife and a four-year-old son I'd rather spend time with. Please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like I do!
Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

    * BE CAREFUL! The Bourne Identity is available in both Widescreen and Fullscreen versions...get the correct one. "See What You've Been Missing: SEE IT IN WIDESCREEN!" [IMG]
    * Non-OAR discs are, as usual, entirely left off the Roundup. Example: the new release of Condorman (a widescreen version was released a couple of years ago, but is hard to find).
    * Best Buy offers a $10 gift certificate to anyone who purchases 101 Dalmations: Patch's London Adventure and any other Disney DVD title. In-store only. "Disney DVD titles" are apparently defined as anything that is marked for the "Disney" shelves of the media section in your store. A title that lives in the Drama, Sci-Fi, or TV sections, for example, would not automatically process at the register. However, I'm sure a chat with the M.O.D. (Manager On Duty) would clear that up. [IMG] Good luck; some of those guys are hard to convince!
    * Target shows "Low Price" on both 101 Dalmations: Patch's London Adventure and on The Bourne Identity. No idea what the price is; please post something if you find out.
    * K-Mart has The Bourne Identity and S1im0ne for $19.95 each. They also have 101 Dalmations: Patch's London Adventure for $19.95, but will take $4 off if purchased at the same time as Lady and the Tramp II or another title that I somehow cannot read clearly because it is not available in widescreen. The latest markdowns according to VideoTropics web site (DVD Title/Old SRP/New SRP):
    -------------------------
    • Scooby-Doo's Creepiest Capers $19.98 $14.98
    • Scooby-Doo's Original Mysteries $19.98 $14.98
    • Scooby-Doo's Spookiest Tales $19.98 $14.98

Bill, I don't agree with that as a generalization. Target has had some truly competition-busting prices lately. I can go back to many recent (last few months) Roundups and give you many examples.

If I am truly disappointed in anyone's sale prices anymore, it is Best Buy. And that goes hand-in-hand with reports of truly sucky service. There are definately exceptions to that rule (HTF's own Matt Birchall; my store's Stephen; my store's ex-employee, Ashley, now in a Florida BB; Kyle & Ron at the store on the north side of Memphis). But, when that becomes the exception and not the rule, and the prices go sky-high (both sale- and everyday-prices), then, well, what can I say?

Target's not perfect, either, but I can't say that their "Low Prices" aren't really low...then often are!

Hey, a major Target store just closed down in my area. Right next to Broward Mall. It was open during the holidays, but yesterday I noticed it's closed up, signs been taken down, etc. I haven't heard anything about Target having financial problems.

Fry's is advertizing The Bourne Identity for $14.77

Target is not having financial problems. Did they open a new Target somewhere in the area? They have been replacing alot of the older stores with new ones, usually Super Targets in many markets.

Well another slow week for me. Time to catch up on some titles when I get my school money. Might finally pick up Buffy this week.

That's so odd. I was in that Target on vacation, since my sister lives a few miles from Broward Mall.

That area isn't the retail hotbed it used to be when I lived there, though; it's amazing how far The Fashion Mall has fallen in the space of ten years, for example. Everything seems to be moving/opening around Pembroke Lakes Mall now, which was primarily wilderness ten years ago. (The parking lot is arguably still wilderness.)

Hey John, that Target by the Broward Mall isnt closed for good, they are just remodeling it. It was pretty antiquated as Targets go. Im not sure how long it will be down for but I was told at least 4-6 months. Just a heads up.

David - The fashion mall sucks. The only reason people go there is for the Macy's because its the only one in either direction for about 50 miles or so. West Palm and Aventura. Oh and don't get me started on the Pembroke Lakes Mall. If ever there was a blueprint for worst designed parking lot, that one would be it. Ive seen more accidents there then I have on 95.

By the way, thanks again Dave.

Alex, thanks for the info. I know it wasn't the greatest Target plant-wise, ut it was kinda convenient to drop in either before or after looking for something in Broward Mall.

    edit:

Alex, just got back from Broward Mall and they are demolishing the Target building. So if it is going to re-open, it's not gonna just be a re-furb, but a complete demolish and rebuild. I know a Publix store in Miami where this was done, so I guess it's conceivable.
