If nothing else, there's applause...like waves of love pouring over the footlights.

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, the week of the release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website...but it COULD still be in-stores!
I only include the titles I feel like including. In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. I have a lovely wife and a four-year-old son I'd rather spend time with. Please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like I do!
Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

    * BE CAREFUL! About a Boy, Blue Crush, & Undercover Brother are all available in both Widescreen and Fullscreen versions...get the correct one!
    * Non-OAR discs are, as usual, entirely left off the Roundup. Examples: The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, Gus, The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit, The Moon-Spinners.
    * New Rule: DVD titles that are both Non-OAR AND Colorized, of all things, will be left off the Roundup. In this case: The Absent-Minded Professor! [IMG] I guess that keeps Disney out of the Roundup this week! :p)
    * Target promises "Low Prices" on both Undercover Brother and Blue Crush, without being specific at all. If anyone finds out what they are, please report them for us! It's interesting to note that Target's circular promises both FS and WS versions of BC, but only WS versions of UB! [IMG] Right on!
    * K-Mart sells these for $19.95 each: About a Boy, Blue Crush, Fear dot Com, & Undercover Brother. Boy, those prices suck, eh?
    * Best Buy's prices on new releases suck this week, too! The only "promo" for DVDs this week is discussion of something Universal has sponsored, and is good at all retailers...not just Best Buy. Feel free to save money elsewhere on these:
    * Universal has sponsored a promotion on 3 new titles this week, and one for next week. Here are their own words:

No week for a no money period. If next week isn't promising, then I will just get some more GBA games.

I was convinced by Epstein's review to give Undercover a try but I need to research Fear.com a bit. I like Horror!

Undercover Brother is mine on Tuesday.
As far as the 2 free DVD offer from Universal, I would do it. But the main problem is I have most of what they are offering for free. And I'm not Interested in the rest.
    *--Owned
"A Beautiful Mind*, Beethoven's 3rd*, Black Dog, Bowfinger, EDtv*, Jaws*, Jurassic Park*, Jurassic Park: The Lost World*, Jurassic Park III*, The Mummy*, Mystery Men, The Nutty Professor*, The Skulls, Snow Falling on Cedar, & The Quest".
I guess "The Skulls & Bowfinger" look like good choices but not highly wanted on my list if I had to pay for them.

From what I heard, Universal will only be offering full-screen versions of The Mummy and Jurassic Park as part of the deal [IMG].

I am going to pick up About a Boy and Undercover Brother at CC for $15.99.
I have All About Eve, Gentleman's Agreement, and How Green Was My Valley along with Krush Groove on the way from DVD Empire.
This is why I pre-order catalog titles: only $12.99 each for the Fox classics, no sales tax, free shipping and I used a $5 off coupon on the lot.
Surprised Krush Groove isn't on the Round-Up. It's OAR. I got mine for $13.99 from DvD Empire but it's also advertised at Best Buy this week for $14.99.

To everybody complaining about what a lame week it is - well, you're mostly right, except for one title - About A Boy. This very funny and oddly moving little movie was unfairly ignored by the American public last summer. It's NOT a "chick flick". Put aside your fear of Hugh Grant [IMG] and check it out - at least as a rental.
And Jodee, I'm with you on the Fox Studio Classics line - $12.99, free shipping & no tax from DVD Empire is a no-brainer.

I'm going w/ Undercover Brother on strength of word-of-mouth and Ron's review. But yes, it's been pretty dry recently and I'm not complaining because I sure do need to pay off all those holiday purchases! And I think this is the calm before the storm for me...

The only title I will be picking up this week, based off of Ron's review, is Ric Burns Donner Party.

Are Undercover Brother, Fear Dot Com, Blue Crush and About a Boy show as $15.99 in the Circuit City ad or does it just say low price? The reason I ask is that the Circuit City by me usually doesn't get new releases when they come out (even big titles) and when they do they get about 3 copies of everything.

What's up with Best Buy being so stingy this week?

"Dead Reckoning" is a welcome sight for us Bogey, Noir, and (best of all) Bogey Noir fans! But it is a slow week.

Thanks as always for your roundup, Dave!
