Web sources for TV and video and sound channels? (1 Viewer)

I have just joined.

I worked for the Transmission Department of the BBC for a long time but got out shortly after it was privatised.

Then I did gas boiler repairs and still do a few. But now I am trying to get more enjoyment from life.

I have signed up for a Virgin fibre to the house at 50 MBPS.

So I am asking what vision and sound qualities I can get off the web for many of the broadcast channels?

I have a Home Theatre system which I think can handle 5.1 as sourced from some DVDs.

But can I expect to get from broadcast channels on the web?
