Weather Report SACD 5.1- what happened? (1 Viewer)

I was just checking out acousticsounds, and they list Weather Report's Heavy Weather in stereo, claiming a 5.1 version was canceled. Does anyone know why?

Mike, someone on Audio Asylum mentioned this in a thread the other day, but there was no reason offered as to why. This is sad news. On a related note, just today, I saw two copies of the stereo SACD at Best Buy for $16.99, so it appears that the days of picking up this SACD for $11.99 at Best Buy are gone. I guess I got lucky.

Bummer if true. However, I did see a Weather Report multi-channel at Tower today for $25. I don't remember the title.

I don't know about the 5.1 version, but I really enjoy my 20-bit remaster version of this CD!

Undoubtedly, you saw the Telarc Celebrating the Music of Weather Report SACD, which as you can probably gather, is a tribute disc. It's also available on DVD-Audio.
