I’m definitely on the pro let’s-explore-space camp. But I can’t help feeling like we will definitely go extinct before we solve the problem of interstellar travel. So it seems like it may end up being all for nothing. But in the meantime, it’s always exciting when new things come along. New Horizons flying by Pluto in 2015 was particularly cool.

...At one time the plan was to establish a base on the moon, transport materials, then build and launch a Mars mission from the moon...
Putting people back on the moon could be the first step towards establishing a base there to build a Mars mission.
