I can only guess that amazon.ca has no idea when they will get it now, because they shipped a cheapie DVD that I pre-ordered with TS (Silkwood) all by itself, and they usually don't do that if they're expecting the rest of the order (i.e. TS) "soon". Anybody have any solid info, or even better, the TS disc in their hands?

Thanks. When I ordered it at the beginning of August it was supposed to be Oct. 14...amazon.ca doesn't even show this, they still report possible delivery to me tomorrow even though they say "not released yet" now.

Now that you mention it, I think somebody reported this, even though it didn't come up "obviously" in my search.

The Criterion WEB site still shows Tokyo Story as ‘coming soon’. Their September releases were all dated on the 30th.

As far as I know (someone correct me if I'm wrong), Criterion hasn't shipped any screeners of Tokyo Story to reviewers yet, either (unlike the other two titles being released October 28th--Schizopolis and Le Cercle Rouge: online reviews are already posted for both).

That may indicate a further delay for this long-awaited set.

Any company other than Criterion and I might be irritated. However, given their track record, I’m going to assume that if there is a delay, there will be some acceptable reason (most probably concerning quality) for the delay.
