I've been a fan of Warren Zevon since his first album (1976). This is very, very sad news.
His outlook is courageous.

Wow. :frowning:
What can you say about a thing like this? Very sad news indeed.
I'm going home to listen to Werewolves of London.
And don't be surprised if I resurrect the "quit smoking" thread tomorrow. Accursed, foul tobacco has claimed another victim.

Thanks for the link Jon....I found this article in the Los Angeles Times.
Warren is dealing with what we all face, and doing it with class and wit.

It's more of an After Hours topic, given the what the man is now facing. If this were a discussion about his music, then, well ...

My brother died of inoperable lung cancer three years ago following an 8 year battle. He was a smoker and a fireman. The constant chemo treatments took a tremendous toll on his body. In the end he told his wife he was tired of fighting and three days later he died.

I pray that Warren doesn't suffer....and Rain, you BETTER quit!

I had a chance to see him in an outdoor classical music amphitheater in western Mass back in the early '90s. He was a last minute fill in for Joe Cocker as the opening act for Steve Winwood. He played for 90 minutes without another person on stage, just him and his keyboard. It was absolutely incredible.

Play it all night long Warren.
