"FOUR FRIENDS is not a Warner title.
FOUR FRIENDS is part of the Filmways/Orion library now owned by MGM/UA....Conrad_SSS"

Thanks, Conrad, it's hard to keep track sometimes. The VHS I have was released by Warner's. It's still odd to see MGM titles on Warner's. Anyone know who has the Vestron titles these days? :)

Jay,

Thanks. And that's always a problem for me. Most of them were distributed over here by Warner Home Video (i.e. The Go-Between). But I cannot see very easily if it's only a local (European) right or if Warner Bros. really owns the film now. More so for MGM-titles (Duck You Sucker - aka A Fistful of Dynamite - and Man of the West were MGM/UA Home Video titles here).

As another result of this, I may also have failed to mention some Warner titles, even when they are on my personal wanted list (e.g. The Narrow Margin).

Does anyone know if the 1950 version of King Solomon's Mines is owned by Warner or MGM? or someone else? This is the one with Stewart Granger and Deborah Kerr. I'd love to see it come to DVD, but I'm not sure if I'm barking up the wrong tree.

Yes it is very confusing at times.

Home video rights are less certain nowadays, I usually check at IMDB to see who originally distributed the film in theaters.

Don't have to be 2-disc special editions or anything - I'd just love to see them on DVD.
